My Year in Pictures---Thanks Kurt for the Inspiation!

2012 didn't start out normal. My family and I are big skiers but 2012 wasn't shaping up to be like a typical Utah Winter. What to do? We rolled down to the Moab area and enjoyed the slickrock playground called Arches.

Our first stop was Rancho not so Grande located on the Eastern side of the Swell.



Exploring in Arches...Weird but nice in early JANUARY!



Kickball anyone?



Next, I went down to explore some canyons with my good friend Doug. No snow and killer weather for early March! Get to the Roost! Wilderness Paradise!









Spring Break this year led the family on a kayaking trip on Powell with some good friends--Shane and Austin.





On our way there we visited the Mars Research center outside of Hanksville. A must see if you are in the area...Crazy!

After Powell, we found some ruins on Cedar Mesa. Never get sick of finding signs of the past.



Went out with my friends Adam and Layton in early May to explore the Roost some more. Never tired of the place. It's a paradise below the rim!





We climbed a route called a 1000 feet of Fun! It had been a while since I had done any serious climbing. I was thinking the climb should be called--What the Hell Am I Doing? Thanks Adam and Layton. A real treat to get back on the rock!



Got out of dodge in late May with my friend Ed to visit Ralston's Canyon. Commonly know as Blue John!







In Early June, I took my daughter, Lilly, on a Daddy, Daughter trip to Dinosaur. Good times had by all!

We were off to Colorado next. Visit Grandma, ride some single track, enjoy the San Juans...It was all good!













Onto Idaho in Mid July...All about Hotsprings and Fly Fishing! Fish were caught by all! We did have to jam out with the harmonicas!

We were off to Colorado again in mid August to see my sister and brother-in law. Some great country...

First stop...Skinwalker Ranch...My wife read the book, we had to visit. Not much to see and no aliens to speak of...









We all were itching for the Desert. In Mid September, the family and I headed to the Swell.







I was able to escape to the desert with my friend Dave in Mid October. We got Happy...Happy Canyon that is...Explored some slots that drain into the big reservoir know as Lake Powell.





Finished exploring in 2012 with my daughter in Moab. What a year!



HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL 2013! GET OUT THERE!
