Mounting on the driver's side is not really an issue, but on the passenger's side it can be a bit more problematic, as you have to deal with the engine hatch and an area that is not really structural.
The standard bench does not actually bolt through the floor pan. It has some strong hinges at the rear and at the front it sits on the corner of the "hump", being secured with catches. There is no contact with the floor between the hinges and catches.
I actually beefed up my mount points (on the passenger side Stratos seat) with fairly large plates, which distribute the load better I did this because I was getting quite a bit of flex with how the seat was originally mounted.
