NATO tow hook ??

Hey, I am desperately looking for a picture of a J80 with a NATO tow / pintle hook mounted at the rear crossmember.

Would be helpfull with a stock / official looking car like military or red cross ...

Interesting query....In the U.S. They aren't "approved" per se. I have towed a 22 ft boat (~ 1100Kg) with no problems. Mostly I use the pintle for my M416 trailer that typically maxes out ~450Kg

I seem to recall someone on Mud posting a 2000Kg tow rating from an Aussie owner's manual. I'll see if I can find that posting.


What are your plans?

I don't think they were Rover specific but I know some military Rovers had pintle hitches that can rotate as well.

Dave, that would be exactly what I am looking for.


The picture of the Pintle I posted above is the original Toyota Pintle. I have a Dixon Bate wich is longer and can rotate.

We have a VarioBlock mounting system, in the moment I have to tow a small trailer with usual trailer hitch. Just to proof the crossmember beeing strong enaugh, I am looking for pics and data.
