Neat "little" trailer in Utah

Found this in a local classified..with a little imagination and work could be a nice little unit:

That is a really cool trailer... did a quick google search and came up with this:

"KWIK KAMP closed the doors in NOV99, they were out of TX, i was at factory in SEPT 99 and they had few 99 still left, it was owned by party from MICH who moved on to other ventures i am told , parts should be no problem you can get axels, etc from DEXTER CO out of indiana, canvas should be avail at most boat canvas shop, bearing etc are same as boat trailers,i HAD 94 Classic, they made two models the classic(smaller) and the bel aire 6 inches longer but i would go for it if i was in market i sold mine to go to larger bunk house , they were a fine unit and well built towed well and low profile jsut a good solid unit go for it any trailer broadens your horizions and enjoyment"

Search for motorcycle tent trailers and a few little guys like that pop up. I really like the design. I was in Moab a few years ago and a couple pulled up with something similar to what you posted using a Honda Civic to tow it, and in about 5 minutes they had a sweet little campsite all set up!

Very cool indeed. The only thing that might concern me is the composite material on extended washboard type driving, but who knows!

This trailers are fantastic. We have one behind our BMW R850R which we tow for 8 month trip along Oz east coast and to Adelaide.
You never notice that the trailer is there. we have:
60 Lts ice box, 2 reclining camping chairs, and all the necessary gear. The wheels in this trailer were Morris Mini but it is very easy to make a trailer like this with large wheels.
For the construction we used light material. The top box was 1" x 1" square tube and 0.83 thick sheet metal.
Very good setup all up fully load 220 Kg.

There is a trailer company out of Pa that makes a very similar trailer for towing behind a MC or compact car.. I'll try to find the info..

As the caretaker of a TrailBlazer (second set of posted pics) it IS that. Look at the latch for the tops. They are the same. Same is true of the architecture of the tent framework and the the design of the under-bed support frame.
Note the strap loop at the middle of the edge of the bed in the first set of pics. That is the same as the loop used on my TB to lift the access panel to the lower storage area when the tent is set up.

The only real difference is the outer fenders. My TB's tub has those same inner fender notches combined with the outer fender extensions to cover a larger tire.

There is a steel frame under the trailer and they use a rubber torsion axle. The frame is pretty light weight and would be the problem source. The composite tub is pretty robust. Mine, after getting a new frame, has been to Baja many times and guided by Frenchie thru Copper Canyon once. Search TrailBlazer in this section and you'll find pics of the new frame built for mine.

For that price, BUY IT!

The Kwik Kamp was the pre-cursor to the Trailblazer...USA Venturcraft began making the small trailers for cycle use...the owner was also an avid Jeep fan...he re-tooled part of the assembly line and new molds were made for the Trailblazer...some additions included: double thick fiberglas and gel coat, inner drain plug, larger wheel wells, box is deeper for more cargo space and either 5 or 6 lug wheels were fitted...his promotional videos include Moab and the Rubicon trail
...too bad they dont still make them...the ease of getting to your cargo space on the road AND in camp, the idea of a real mattress and STANDING up to get dressed in the morning is fabulous!!
