I felt meeting Jim from Dynatrac in person would leave no room for error in this build in what would be delivered to Angry Iron MetalWorks https://www.facebook.com/angry.iron.metalworks/ )

I wanted to speak with Dynatrac's president, Jim McGean, but the few times we called Dynatrac he was always at off site meetings. https://dynatrac.com. His office said he "may be" at the 3 day Tierra Del Sol 4x4 Jeep show East of San Diego. I felt that the best way to speak with Jim face to face was to fly to San Diego, rent a car to drive 3 hours out to Tierra Del Sol and hope he was at this show.

My girlfriend, Leanne, and I (Leanne is in this picture with Jim), were in Central America the day before. We arrived in San Diego at 1am, got up the next morning at 7am and drove 3 hours east to the Tierra Del Sol 4x4 Jeep event. To our fortune, Jim was there, sitting on the steps of his Dynatrac trailer with his newly adopted rescue dog Gracie.
He was quite surprised and impressed that someone would make that extreme effort to fly that far to meet him and he said this type of effort was a first for him.

I told Jim that meeting him in person and discussing all of this, so that everything was perfect, was very important and that meeting him was well worth the trip, even if for some reason he was not there (As he did not know we were coming, and I was told it was not a 100% guarantee that he would be there)

We spent an hour talking to Jim on time constraints and discussed both the both front and rear Dynatrac 80's, differentials, correct lockers, etc. for this very unique, first of it's kind, Isuzu NPR 4x4 conversion build. (The front and rear axle were 100% prepaid before they are built, roughly 20k)

As the economy is booming (due to the "Trump effect") and the foundries are working at full speed to meet various orders, we discussed time lines, and several other topics, so that this Isuzu NEVER QUIT build would be finished on time for Overland Expo West in Flagstaff Arizona on May 17.

As I expected, Jim was an extremely knowledgeable, elegantly spoken and a kind gentleman. He discussed all his ideas and he will be personally calling Matt at "Angry Iron MetalWorks" on Monday to make sure everything is up to speed, perfect for this build and on time.
To have Jim personally involved in this NEVER QUIT suspension build was more than I could have ever asked for.

The only words I have to describe Jim are: He is a really great and classy guy. Giving, kind, wise and best of all, he cares for animals. His dog Gracie may have had a rough upbringing, but since she was adopted, he and his wife are giving their best to give her all the love and training needed so that she has a fulfilling new life. To even show you more on the Class act of this family, Jim's father is 87 years old and drives Veterans to the VA hospital 3 times a week, at 87.

We then drove 3 hours back to the San Diego airport and flew out at 5:30pm to meet with Matt on the build before going to the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis on Monday.

We found the little coyote days before in the jungle next to the Gatun Locks at the Panama Canal where I grew up for 30 years (before Jimmy Carter illegally gave away our American Canal Zone)
Dad was a senior Panama Canal Pilot there and did a lot of work with Special Forces 7th Group.

I named her Gatun. She had big cow ticks on her and worms when I found her. I got her all cleaned up, inside and out, and brought her back to the U.S. She is one of the loves of my life and will be traveling around the world with me along with Trident and Coffee who we also found on the side of the road.

The bumper design for Never Quit Overland is complete. It has a Warn 16.5ti winch and 9 VisionX led lights in it. We will be fabricating it next week.

The files Matt posted above are quite large, but can be zoomed in, to see fine details. I was at the shop yesterday and the renderings on the SolidWorks computer in the shop look great. Matt was able to get CAD files from Vision X lights, Warn and Isuzu, so that everything fits perfectly in the new bumper.

Alcan Springs have been delivered to the shop, A/V gear has been ordered and we are tracking the builds on the HERO transfer case and Dynatrac axles. Smaller files are attached below.

Sure thing man, any time. I should have the truck on the road soon and I am going to push to dry in the camper box this summer and try to use it some.

Matt at Angry Iron sent me these CAD drawings and some pics of the tank being mocked up.

The transfer case should be here in less than a week according to the latest update we have, so will post pics when that comes in. Some A/V gear showed up too, speakers are in, but no pics yet.

The rear suspension will use the air bags seen on the table; they are capable of 250 psi, but will be run at a significantly lower pressure. Twin Viair tanks are capable of holding nearly that pressure and will be set between 150 - 180 PSI.

Yes, they were ordered from Alcan Spring. They are rated for the weight of the truck with the camper box and include a net 1 inch lift, plus the 5.5" lift gained from the solid axle conversion and spring over. The factory lift block on the I-beam axle was removed.

After spending a few days at the Angry Iron Metalworks shop with Matt, I am pleased to share an update. We are getting close to our first test drive and plan to be on the road to Flagstaff this weekend.

Both axles are under the truck, air bags are plumbed in, link bars are installed, U-bolts made, front axle sitting on jack stands, waiting for front shock mounts to be laser cut and powdercoated.

Transfer case has been mounted and driveshafts have been ordered. Custom brake lines, driveshafts, an Odyssey PC2150 and a few other items are on their way.

We will try to update the thread one final time before leaving for Flagstaff.
