If you are going to venture off road, it is a MUST to relocate or skid your evap cansister. That is an expensive fix if you do hit it on something.

Here is what I have done so far...

I will try to get some pics taken this week. It is raining here now to that makes things difficult.
1. Pipe Clamp around steering stem
2. Electronic Disco Motor Flipped and Plastic (Barlow Boot) bag put over electronic connectors to protect from mud and water
3. Poison Spyder Customs Evap Skid Installed
4. Auto Tranny, Trans Case, Front diff breathers all extended to upper drivers side corner of engine bay. Rear Diff Breather extended up behind rear passenger tail light dead space.
5. All Breather hose origins zip tied onto diff, tc, or trans.
6. Rear Cargo area shelf system created to allow dogs to travel up and luggage underneath. Made from Scrap plywood, wood, and carpet remnants.
7. Aero Gauge installed to monitor Trans Temps and various other things.


To Be Installed:
1. I have the 70268 B&M Trans cooler to put in. Still have to do that
2. LED driving Lights in rear to use as backup/ work lights
3. First Aid Kit- I have been thinking of using an old Ammo can for this. (water, dust, and water proof/resistant)

My advice for your first chore, become a member of JK-forum.com. All the info you will ever need and a great bunch of very experienced and friendly guys. And sinse you have a hard top, in my opinion you dont need anything to start right now. You got good tires, good enough lighting, and security. All I did TO START, was to add storage to the tailgate area, and a roof rack for the tent.

my advice is to stay away from jk-forum. Check out jkowners or jeepforum.com. Jk-forum is ran by some *** who will ban you for no reason, will not let you talk about products that are not sponsors, and will not let you link to other sites such as this one. jk-forum is ok, they had a headstart, so more posts, articles, etc. jkowners is the pirate4x4 site subsection for JK's. It's rapidly gaining steam. I use both. I've never had posts deleted on jk-forum but know people who have and who have been banned. They banned one guy I know for posting the link to OF4WD.com, which is a provincial non-profit organization that's promotes Tread Lightly and trail conservation, they're reason was he was "promoting a competing forum". Give me a break. As frenchlayer stated, they also will delete any posts related to non-sponsor products or posts which criticize paying sponsor's products, so you have to take what you read with a grain of salt and realize that everything is as good as stated over there and there are possibly other very good products/companies that exist which are not covered on the site.

I am a member at both JK forum and JK owners. I have a strong opinion on which I feel is best. :victory:

I will keep that opinion to myself.

This for me has been probably the best forum because all the users here are interested in the same type of off-road driving and activities and they are also interested in maintaining and improving reliability and durability.

I get ideas at other sites then check them out here to see how these ideas or products have measured up to use by people that do the type of off-road driving I do.

I'm not into turning the jeep into a sub... but I don't want to hydro lock either

I'm not into rock crawling giant boulders just to see if I can

I'm not into mud pulls or mud bogs but I don't mind gettin dirty :sombrero:

I DO LOVE riding trails, camping and seeing sights not easily accessible by foot, or bike due to my weekends only being 2 days.

Thats an MBRP JK RACK-sold by mbrpinc.com and Quadratec-

Comes with the basic rack and options all the way forward to a winshield light bar and an attached basket-

Extremely strong and will support up to 700 lbs--

I love my JK. Of all the vehicles I've had (Ford Rangers, Suburban, Tahoes, Nissan Pathfinder [major lemon]), my JK is the best/favorite vehicle I've ever owned. The only problem is that I'm addicted to it. I should probably sell it and buy something a little less addictive, but where's the fun in that?
I don't get to use it nearly as often as I'd like, but it sure is fun when I get to use it.

I've had probably 13/14 different 4wd's over the last 40 years and my JKU is the complete best I've had-

I was really "FOND" of my '06 Xterra OR, but it was just a little to SUV and unsupported with off-road accessories, course that made it harder to spend so much money like this jeep does !!-
