So, some more questions from the noob.....found out my spare rim is garbage. I bought a set of Cooper disco AT3 tires and went up one size from 65 to 70 and got about 2" higher. Still waiting on the OME suspension kit ordered back in October...anyway, the guys tried to balance it with the new tire at the shop and they said it was bouncing all over the place. I have the 17" wheels....wondering what is a cost effective way to replace that rim. We never have any Monteros at junkyards down here.
I'm getting dismal fuel economy and have found a vacuum leak in the "intake runner shaft" I believe it would be called. Can I source an oring from the plumbing isle pretty easily? What is everyone's take on eliminating the butterflies, or should I just remove them and red locktite screws in? This was also a fear on the Bing carbs on my BMW airhead, but we would pean the rear of the screw so they wouldn't release....is there a way to do that? Thanks all.....pics to cure boredom.
got the new cv boot on...
