New "Baby" Jeep for 2014

I say throw a lift and some big ole 27's on that puppy, some aluminum skids for the bottom, a itty bitty 2500 pound winch and a rear locker and you could take it anywhere! Sweet!

After seeing fiats like this all over Italy when we went last year both my wife and my 22 year old daughter would probably be up for this... Just the way it looks in the picture.

Makes me think of an AWD Smart Car or Scion.
For putting around town, sure, why not?
For anything else, nope!

The vehicle shown in the Fox News article is a Fiat Panda. It's a lot smaller than the subcompact vehicle Jeep plans to introduce. The Panda is about 145 inches long. The new Jeep will be about 162 inches long according to the article by Edmunds linked in the Fox News piece. That's the same size as the current Honda Fit, or the first generation Toyota RAV4.

How about Chrysler

I think it looks kind of interesting, but it shouldn't be under the Jeep label unless it was modified to be a 3rd world solution to handle bad road conditions. As is, they should move under the Chrysler brand...or...how about keeping it a Fiat? They should push Jeep back to resemble more of the Land Rover fleet. Keep the Wrangler, Cherokee and bring back the Scrambler.

I'm waiting til it's actually released to pass judgement, maybe it'll end up being pretty capable. With it being as small as it is you and a passenger should be able to carry it over any bad obstacles:elkgrin:
