New Bike Garage

My family's growing fleet of bikes were just taking up too much room in the garage. So I had this "bike garage" built in a corner of my driveway. Currently it holds 7 bikes but has room for a few more. It's 6 by 12 so no building permit required. I put up plywood on the back wall and cut out slots for the bike wheels to slide into. Room above the bikes will be used for camping gear etc.

Man, I need one of those. I'm trying to clear some space in the garage and can't decide how to store the bikes.

For us, the bikes would stay in the garage (too many and too nice for a shed). Everything else will be headed for the shed.

Wow, definitely a nice outbuilding. Very clean design with a great door.

I lucked out as our home came with an existing 12x25 for all my kayaks.:sombrero:

At the risk of horning in on jammyauto's thread, here's our bike solution.

For the enduro, I wanted easy access and it's own work place (bench, tools, gear, parts).

For the bikes I wanted easy access (to the gear and parts as well) and wanted them as hidden from the street as possible. The "L" shaped enduro work bench (made from reclaimed gym flooring) with roll around tool chest on the end divides the space nicely, hides the bikes a bit, and still allows room for my wife's Nissan Murano parked in the other bay.

An old futon frame has slots to slip the bike wheels thru and holds them up. Hooks from the ceiling holds the other bikes. Peg board and slat wall hold the gear.

The garage is narrow for a two car, but it is 30ft deep, allowing space for the Tournament table behind the Murano.

The bummer is, I have two garages and neither one of them is tall enough to fit the AstroLander.

One of next winter's projects is to build a project table (also of reclaimed gym flooring) that will be on castors. It will have a chart/map shelf under the entire table about 6" below the tabletop. It will sit over the foosball table for general use, and will easily be rolled out to reveal the foosball table come tournament time (at which time it will hold chips, dip, and beer quite nicely.)

Nice shed!

Nice looking chopper back there T Low.

I used a couple double bike stands along the garage wall but they do take some room.

Thanks for the complements everyone. Please feel free to post up any bike storage and garage /shed layouts.

Now I need to figure out where to store my next purchase, a one man outrigger canoe. It will probably end up having to live at my shop (work).

Which one did you get? I've been thinking about getting one lately, but I'm still paddling surf skis (and white water boats, and sea kayaks, and kayak polo boats:sombrero:)

It suprised me at how different the upper body work out is on an outrigger vs a surf ski.

I did'nt get one yet. Need a few more frogskins in the toy account. Probably going to buy a pegasus I think. Only because that's what I've been borrowing from a friend. I grew up on the east coast and used to do alot of marathon canoe racing (19.6 carbon fiber pro boats) 35 to 100 mile racing. Serge Corbin was my hero. Here in socal there is really no freshwater close enough to paddle on so the outrigger is the closest thing. I've spent a little time on a surfski but I really perfer to paddle a canoe myself.

Serge is the Man, alright. I'm from Mi where he definitely made his mark in the Au Sable.
