New Ford PSD pictures

That's a great set of photos.
So Ford has a brand new 6.7L diesel, a mostly new 6.2L gas V8, and
a completely new 6 speed automatic transmission in the Super Duty
line. Am I the only one worried? Wouldn't it make sense to wait
a year or two to let others find the issues that Ford's engineers
missed or didn't anticipate? I thought truck buyers were supposed
to be conservative by nature!

Knowing where they have come from with the 6 oh NO! and the 6.4... this may not be a bad thing. It certainly can't be any worse than the 6 liter was.
Not a powerstroke, but I bought a 2nd year model from Ford with a first year twin turbo engine and so far have had zero problems with it in the first 10,000 miles. (knocks on wood, lol) I am very impressed with it versus the other vehicles I looked at and think Ford really has it together versus some of its competition now. I think they are on the right track with their product line.

I was noticing in the linked article that they show two different rear axles for the 250 and the 350. I thought it was common for 3/4 and 1-ton platforms to share these components, except for possible gearing changes. Is this common to have two different rear axles?

AFAIK, it's not common to share the same axles...thats the main difference between a 3/4 and full ton rating.

Correct.. the gasser 2500 has a different axle on the Dodges. I'm not sure what the Ford practice is.
I think in the Dodges as well, it used to be only the manuals got the one ton axle. I can't remember for sure though.

In '07 F250/F350 difference is a few splines on the axle, I think. Everything else is exactly the same below the spring block.
