New FORD Ranger SUPER DUTY (Global Market)

Seems geared towards markets like Australia. It would be great to have this in the US with a diesel, unfortunately not likely to happen.

Different weight classifications determine drivers license requirements. Fortunately here in the US we can drive a real Super Duty with just a regular drivers license.

Interesting. On paper it would tow my travel trailer.

But, as it's still a physically smaller vehicle with a much shorter wheelbase than my supercrew long box, I'd worry about the tail wagging the dog...

Glad they’re not selling it here.

If they did release it in N.A. they of course wouldn’t mandate the build including wider towing mirrors (which aren’t apparent in the dually picture above) on all of them.

And that would just add to the unnecessary irritation of following slow, clueless drivers crawling up winding upgrades as they struggle to pull their heavy load at posted speed limits…people who always seem to remain completely oblivious of the line of frustrated drivers in vehicles stuck behind them.🤬

I think options are good for the consumer.

I honestly would like to see flatbed, 3 sided drop edge bed and contractor storage beds available on any size truck from the factory, in addition to the regular bed, at a minimal additional cost.
That simple thing, would make the truck much more useful right from new. I think there is so much wasted space on an already midsize truck.

I would be thrilled with a OE liftgate that doesn't look goofy.

We can have a bazillion cupholders, steps that pop out of everywhere and 500hp half tons... still gotta hee man crap into the ever higher bed load floor.

Dont get me started on bed height - I looked into lowering my 21' Ram 2500 so I could load my dirtbike easier. We had an older Chevy 2500 and Ford F150, I could push my moto up into bed and step up, both of which were lower than my 19' Ranger which was barely doable without a step stool....with the Ram it's hard to do with a step stool and I am 6-4.

Maybe it's me, but I don't get the point. Take a Ranger and put on HD springs, beef up drivetrain (axle, tcase, trans) and hopefully brakes? You still have a shorter wheelbase / light pickup. I think stepping up to a 250/350 makes a lot more sense...

Numbers below in freedom units:
Braked towing capacity = 9920 lbs
GVM (GVWR) = 9920 lbs
GCM (GCWR) = 17,600 lbs

In the parts of the world where the Ranger Super Duty will be sold there is no 150/250/350 to step up to.

My comment was in response to folks saying they want it here in the states. I did see full size pickups in Aus when I was there a few years back but I know they are prohibitively expensive.
