Thread interruption #2

Yes, opinions can differ greatly. We had a Previa, '91 if I remember right, and I really liked it. Drove it from California to Minnesota a couple of times, thought it was very stable and easy to drive. Unfortunately my ex got it in the divorce settlement. The only thing I didn't like about it was the mileage, after having Honda Civics!

Unfortunate thread interuption, but where else here can you offer an opinion on a Toyota Previa . . .

This is a good example of how much opinions can differ among knowledgeable people. I had a Toyota Previa for a couple of years and among my fifty-plus vehicles, this one hands-down won the "Most Likely to Make Passengers Carsick" award. Strange layout (the engine's under the floor) and strange driving dynamics. Can't argue about the space, quality, AC, etc., but I didn't enjoy driving it and was glad to see it go. Zany looks, too.

And now, back to the Transit Connect . . .

Looks like we are getting a couple of Transit Connects for the fleet.I have the latest vehicle (2008 Chevy Colorado with Z71 package) and it is vehicle #296 for our company. We started looking for alternate vehicles to replace our Astro's as they became unservicable and long in the tooth. We have 1 Sprinter (excellent but 3 times the price of an Astro), we have a cargo Chevy Express (more than we need but ok) and a few Chevy Uplanders (well at least we could get them as a cargo version upfitted with racking but really, what a piece of junk Chevy). The Transit Connect cannot (and should not) be compared to a Chevy Express, it is hardly in the same category. I think we will do well with the Connects for our service fleet and will likely get a few more Expresses for our installers. They are different utility vehicles for different applications. My opinion only although I think I will pick up one of the surplus units when it is removed from service cause I think it will make a great small footprint camper.

They seem like sturdy little vans. I looked at one while my mom was getting her Explorer serviced. Theyre fairly room, and the fleet dealership across the street has some with roof racks that look like they could be very promising. :)
