My name is Tony and I have a 98 Tacoma that Im transforming from a rock crawler to an expedition vehicle. It has Chevy rear leafs and 3" spacers in the front. Im running 35" BFGs. 04 front end, It has twin cases and a flat belly with full Budbuilt skids and traction bar, Aussie front locker, Has TJM front bumper with a Warn M8000 winch with synthetic line, custom rear bumper and sliders, Just installed the ARB snorkel..Its still a work in progress..

Nice set up. Looks like it saw a lot of time on the rock pile, this looks familiar, was it one of the Bubuilt company trucks? The stiff springs in back should support a RTT and other gear, I'm guessing the ride is bone shaking now!

Thanks, Yea its beat all to hell and it was Buds company truck.(and he really used it) And it actually rides pretty soft with the chevy rears..

Yeah I guess those fat tires soften the ride a lot and you'ld be boucing down the road on normal springs. That's nice to get a "show off" truck from a builder as you know they spared little if anything building it. I really like the stance.

Ive built my share of offroad trucks in my days and it was fun, but now I have a little girl so most of my free time is gone, so it was nice to buy a truck that was already built and built right. Heres the last two I built

Welcome to the portals! One of my best friends and former Army roommate is from Asheville and went to school at ASU (Appalachian State not Arizona State!) When I was stationed at Bragg I used to go up and visit him quite a bit, we normally drove right through Lenoir, IIRC.

Western NC is absolutely gorgeous. Especially in Autumn when the leaves are ablaze with color!

Another Welcome to ExPo -

I was also a Mountaineer in the late 80's - early 90's. Spent a fortune at the Boone Bagelry on King St. in 4 years, made & lost a fortune hustling pool games at Savannah Jacks. Skied Sugar and Beech Mtn, drank more than my share on the deck of Tumbleweed... oh, and I went to some classes & football games at App as well. Good times... Hope to get back there some day.

Nice Tacoma BTW. I really, really like that 4Runner you built up too. Nice Can-Back and stance.

Thanks... I was a little shocked myself that he sold it. I use to ride by his shop and gawk at it all the time. The day I saw a price on the window was the day I called him. Bud is a super nice guy..I believe he would give you the shirt off his back..
