New Guy From Alaska

I've been trolling around here, and even added a few post's so I figured that it is time to introduce myself. I have a 2008 FJC with the off-road package and manual transmission. I bought my FJC 2 months ago, and I've added to it the following:

Trail Gear Rock Sliders
Toyota Trail Team Mirrors and Grill
Toyota Tundra Door Handles
Safari Snorkel

I have the following stuff, but haven't had time to put it on yet:

OME "medium" lift kit
All-Pro off-road 1.25" wheel spacers
Toytec Differential drop kit
Toytec Swaybar relocation brackets
Gobi Ladder
Paint for the remaining silver trim :)

My future plans include a roof rack, fridge, storage, bumpers, winch, lights, bigger tires, etc. and hopefully some long road trips.

Here is my snorkel install.

Drilling a hole through the fender on a brand new vehicle is pretty intense, but it was fun. All in all I think that the ARB kit is very well made, and the install went as good as could be expected. I would buy from them again for sure.

BTW- The silver around the main whole is some primer we used to seal the metal.

Are those the stock wheels for the FJC? They look like the ones that come on 4Runner Trail Editions. I had those tires on my Tacoma and frankly, they sucked. Slipped on a few occasions in rain and snow. I'd replace them ASAP. I have BFG AT KO's now and very happy with them.

These are the 16" wheels that come on the off-road package FJC's. The tires are bfgoodrich Rugged Trail T/A's. They are also stock with this package.

I do plan on swapping them as soon as my wife get over the money I've spent so far. I wanted to lift the truck first so that I could put larger tires on. I've been looking at the Cooper SST's.

Luckily I already have the lift ready to go on, but I'm going to be one of the ****************** running around with a lift, and stock tires.

Nice truck! Can't wait to see it with the lift.

The Cooper tires are supposed to be nice, I have Toyo open country M/Ts and love them, BFG all terrains are nice if your on the highway a lot.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. I've lived in Alaska my entire life, and I love it here. I have yet to see all that it has to offer, but hopefully I'll be getting out some more now.

I'll keep you guys updated over the next couple of weeks while I install the rest of my stuff.

Awesome! You're going to love the snorkel, once you can ignore people asking how deep you've taken your rig.

Welcome, jeremiahak ! (from another "new guy" as well).

Lots of great ideas and builds of all types to find here.

Good to some pictures of your FJC. I would also have some difficulty drilling some holes in a new fender. The benifit is you can always buy a new one. We'll have to do some trips once I get up there so we can "Break In" the Toyota's:smiley_drive: Still looking for a place, I haven't come across anything much.
