OK, the Excursion left yesterday, and the hunt has intensified. I went and drove an E350 today, with a 6.0, and 200k, am I crazy? I ran the carfax it's had the injectors done a couple of times, once recently and the intake replaced. Are 6.0s better if you just do the EGR delete and aftermarket cooler?

For me, when I was looking for a diesel van, I limited myself to 100-150k tops for the 6.0, and 250k for a 7.3.

Maintenance is paramount for 6.0 lifespan, and I didn't feel comfortable having 150k go by before tackling the problem areas for 6.0. Just my take on it.

Yea, 200K is iffy in my opinion. Like adi said, maintenance is key to 6.0 life. No matter what, you'll want to complete the EGR mods as well as get the turbo cleaned up & fixed if needed.

Congrats with the sale and moving forward on the van. What hours are you at your shop? Will bring the van by and introduce myself, as your shop is not too far from where I keep the Quigley. I need a light welding project done and like to keep the work local.....

Just give me a shout, we can schedule something. I'd love to see your van. I'm set up for MIG, TIG, and can handle steel, stainless, aluminum, inconel, etc. Thanks for the feedback guys. I thought about it over night, and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this one... details to come.
