This just happened.. need to swing by home depot and pickup fairlead bolts, and maybe some additional wiring, since I'm not sure the cables provided will reach my battery. We may be wiring a winch in the desert. :)<br />

Just a quick update. Not thst 5 his is being read, bit I figured I'd update anyway...

So, Wife and I made a trip to San Diego this weekend so she could attend a college roommates baby shower... Which meant I got to hang out with the daughter... Well, I also managed to find a couple things for crazy deals down there, so I picked up a couple things....

315/70/17 Yokohama Geolanders with roughly 75% tread (was needing tires desperately). Wasn't looking forward to spending tons of money on tires, and I found these for a deal I could not pass up... They will work great and allow me to save up for mods necessary to run 37's next go around :)

And the most awesome part of my trip, the same gentleman I got the tires from, also had this...

I picked up both, and have now joined the elite group of glampers that own a fridge/freezer. I can't say enough about how excited I am about these two items! The ARB has been loved, and used, but it works flawlessly... 50 quarts of goodness! Can't wait to use it at T4T!!

Both look to be good scores! Not to mention a trip to sandy eggo... I'd like to be there right now, instead of here where it's 20*!

Yes, Sandy eggo was nice. If I were to tell you what I paid for these two items, including the cost of fuel and the cost of a hotel room for one night in San diego, plus eating out for 3 meals, you'd probably still have to pick your jaw up off the floor. I'll just say it's good to have friends, and people who appreciate a family man.

Nice score on both, but especially the fridge. You are going to love that thing and will wonder after a trip or two how and why you waited so long to get one. We even use ours when we are going to grocery shop and know that it is going to be a while before we get home.

That's what everyone kept telling me, and I was eyeballing fridges for a long time.. at the price thst I got this arb for, I would have been a complete moron to pass it up. I woulda kicked my own butt. I'm gonna be at the toys 4 tots event on camp pendelton Dec 5-7, which will be it's first use. In the mean time, I need to get a dedicated line ran for it, but I'll make it happen.

Mild Santa Ana today and tomorrow. Beautiful. We'd like as some rain though as well as all of California.

Good score. I'd love a compressor fridge for my camper. We store two one gallon frozen herbal tea Nalgenes in the door of our 2000 Dometic in order to help the lame 12v setting work while driving.

Yeah, I haven't been back down to SoCal since Memorial Day weekend, but I have heard the drought is getting worse. If I could send you some rain, or better yet bring some down with me, I'd be all over it!

So I'm off work today, and I loaded the fridge in and I am seeing how it does with my constant hot 12v factory plug today, in case I don't have time to get the dedicated line plumbed before t4t. I also came up with a decent temp tie down solution.. a couple ratchet straps wrapped around the handles and hooked to front and rear seat mounts. It's not budging.

Well crap... truck is at the shop getting oil change and tires mounted, and upon inspection they found my passenger side balljoints are going to need replacement, and my drive shaft carrier bearing is on its way south as well.* That's 3 times now for the carrier bearing.. and I guess it's time to upgrade ball joints.. carli or dynatrac?

Carli. I sell both and get better feedback about Carli, in fact everything they make is pretty darn dialed. The bummer about those trucks is the goofy KPI angle difference, it accelerates the wear on the BJ's and there's nothing you can do about it. That's why rebuildable ball joints are so popular, the axles just like to eat ball joints (heavy engines and guys who think these things make good pre-runners don't help).

I'd be interested in a report on the amp draw from the fridge and what would happen if you left it plugged in, say, over night?

I'm hearing a resounding "carli", for the balljoints, so I am sure that's how I'll go. As far as the fridge, I'm sure it'll be fine. It does have a built in cutoff switch that you can set to low, medium or high, and will turn off the fridge at pre set amounts of battery voltage drop to keep the batteries from dying.
