New Hilux Siting

the only bad thing about these hilux is that they are even uglier than the new Tacomas..

Toyota really needs to go back to the drawing board on their vehicle styling.

the military can import anything they want to. its probably going to montana or wyoming for military training of US troops heading for afganistan.

it might have a mount for a m2 or m60 in back there

Could be heading up here to Blackwater, or US Training Center, or whatever they are called now. Or some other contractor who is armoring up vehicles to go overseas.

its a good possibility they are for the AMP (Afghanistan Military Police)

They drive older decked out Hiluxs, I havent seen one with a newer style one yet, but I havent looked that hard. I will look around and see what they are driving now.

ANP = Afghan National Police. There are other LE organizations but the ANP are the main police force.

And almost all ANSF (Afghan National Security Forces) drive Ford Rangers manufactured in India except those ANA (Afghan National Army) Brigades that have been fielded M1151 HMMWVs.

All this talk is reminding me of all the cool Toyota sightings in The Kingdom

You are correct, it is ANP. I never really paid attention. I have spent most of the years in Iraq :ylsmoke: and yes they do drive 4 door Ford Rangers normally green or brown, but I have seen some in Hiluxs and even Prados. We do give them stuff from DERMO so its possible thats where they got them.

Well im off to Kandahar for a couple days, have fun :smiley_drive:

You know they might be doing some testing out at the TAPG then trucking them up north for a wring out in colder climes

There is a diesel Hilux that resides in Corpus Christi, TX. I see it around town all the time. I'll try to snap a pic some day. I wouldn't feel bad if a train hit it because it makes me so jealous every time I see it. I believe it has Mexico plates.

There is a guy here in NC who is selling a 4 door 91 Hilux truck that has been built very well. I think he is asking around 8 for it. If anyone is interested I could put you in contact.
