New JKU-R is in my garage!! Let the mods begin...

3 weeks ago I decided it was finally time to get a JKU. The local dealer only had one in stock, a silver COD MW3 edition. It suits me fine because it already had the rear bumper I wanted. Of all the JKU-Rs at other dealers, this is the only one that had the options I wanted:

730 NAV
Auto temp control
heated seats
no soft top (hard top only)
Tow package (soon to get upgraded with a 7 pin wiring harness)

My TJ next to the JKU:

The day after I drove it home from the dealer I headed over to Northridge 4x4 and had them install the AEV Premium front bumper. I also had them install a winch.

I don't have major build plans for this one like I did my TJ. I will keep the stock size tires and a few enhancements.

The brown truck dropped off a few boxes from Northridge 4x4 today: New shocks and a Teraflex 1" rear, 2" front lift/leveling springs.

That looks sweet....if I was needing a new ride the JKU would be on the top of the list. Maybe once some of the 3.6l engines hit the used market I will check them out.

Instead of setting your climate control on ac, and fan speed, with vent you set it to 72. I wouldn't buy a car otherwise now.

The guys at Northridge are the best. I'll take a day off of work and take the ferry any day over going to any of the shops closer to me.

Are you going to their open house on Saturday?

I LOVE the climate control (or auto temp control) as Jeep calls it.

My current tow rig has it, and my previous one had it. My previous truck, which I was the second owner of, had it and I loved it - same as a previous post, I prefer vehicles with it now... local driving, not all that important, but on long trips, it's awesome because there's no more continual fiddling with the temp and fan speed to stay comfortable on a hot summer day.
