New Jurgens off-road Camper Trailers!! Let's have some input....

Now that I have recovered from the "sticker shock" I have a few more questions. What are the dimensions of the main cabin on the Xcape and Oryx, not including the pop-up and fold outs. The photos I have seen of the Oryx do not show a spare tire mounted, while the other two trailers do. Does the Oryx carry a spare underneath?

When do you expect to have some trailers available for inspection?

Thanks,
Alan

Having met Rou and Greg at the Expo I am pleased to report they are very serious about getting these trailers to the US market. I gave the smaller XT-140 trailers a close look and was very impressed by build quality and lots of nifty features not seen on other similar trailers.

I am now more excited than ever at the prospect of seeing the Safari line in person.

I agree Ace, I liked the XT-140 as well. If I was in the market for a small, affordable, off-highway trailer the XT-140 would be at the top of my list.

This thread has gone dormant. I hope the interest in this line of trailers has not gone dormant too. I personally am seriously considering the Xcape and now waiting on more info from Bundu Gear and the factory. I have also learned there is another potential buyer for an Xplorer model. I'd sure like to see more discussion on these interesting trailers.

Cool video. Some real tires would have made a big difference though.

Cool video with a Jurgens Caravan in it.... not sure what language it is though:

I'm very interested. Having had my eye on a Kimberly, and then throwing up in my mouth when I realized how much they were (and no dealer in North America), these are very interesting. A guy in my club recently purchased an XT-140, nice little unit, but I really dig the Escape model.

Bringing this thread out of the closet...

I too really like the Xscape and hope to see it in person some day soon.

Hi Guys,
Well, we still do not have an Xcape in the US yet, but someday we will. We are able to order them and bring them in anytime someone wants one. We have done our first conversion on an Xplorer and it really is a wonderful trailer. So, if you want one, we can get you one.
As much as we wanted one, yet again, we will not have one for the Overland Expo. Jurgens, in all their wisdom decided they were not going to send us a demo, as their efforts are focused elsewhere. So, no Xcape or Oryx for now. Though the Xplorer is for a customer, we should have it available for show at OX.

In the meantime, here are some pics from today of the Xplorer behind the new Bundu Gear GX.

Yes, looking forward to seeing at Expo. Meanwhile could you post a few more photos featuring the trailer. I realize you were trying to highlite how it fit behind the GX but I'd like to see a few of just the trailer and a few inside would be nice....or I could just wait a few more weeks.

Hi Ace - hope your travels are keeping you busy. Realistically, i'm not going to get any decent pics before Expo. We're packing up the shop now for our move to Phoenix next week. I'll get some if I can to you.
cheers

Whats the difference between the Xplorer and the Xplorer2?

The Xplorer was originally just a 1 door camper. Then they made it a 2 door camper (doors directly opposite each other to create a privy room). But some people still wanted the 1-door option, so it was brought back, as the Xplorer 2. (Confused? Us too.) The Xplorer 2 has since been dicontinued and replaced by the Xplorer xcell. The Xcell is a 1 door, 1 bed option which comes in at a lower pricepoint, for the people who do not want/need an additional bed or door. The then has a window on the front, and revised interior to make way for extra storage and full-height storage for hanging clothes. The compromise is that the main bed is narrower. You still maintain a single bed in the front.

lost, but making time
Hi Roualeyn,
Glad to see one made it here :D
Will the Xplorer Xcell be available, also ?
We would not need the flop-out bed in front.
