I might be interested in these. I have wanted to replace the stock ones. I tried the Trucklites and hated the light output.

They are very similar to the headlights Chrysler displayed at the Jeep Safari in April that, according to the reps, were supposed to be released as Mopar headlights in collaboration with JW Speaker.

I expected price to be even higher than what I remember seeing last year when I casually looked at LED headlights. I was pleasantly surprised that they were lower. $340 and $390. Still a grip, but lower than I expected.

The first Model 8700s that I tested, with the glass lens, big heat sink, and little fan to de-ice the lens, retailed for $545 each.

Wonder how much the MOPAR part will be?

I think I was wrong, pretty sure that the price listed is PER FIXTURE. Still way out of my price range. I wonder if they really expect to have someone buy and run just one light?

Yeah, pretty sure that is an "each" price. I saw the older style in my buddies xj, and another set in a JK. Very impressive over stock.

Here are the original Model 8700s along with Trucklite 7" spots and 4" floods

This is what you had to grind away to make them fit in a JK

which is why they designed a trimmer Model 8700 Evolution with a plastic lens, no fan, and smaller cooling fins
Here they are in a TJ

And here they are paired with the excellent Model 6045 foglights in my JK

My only issue with these is using them in the snow. I've read reports of people having to pull over, clear off any snow accumulation on the lights, and then continue on. The problem is the less heat these put off.

Well I'll go out and put a mortgage on the ranch...and get a set.
I put 6 NightForce on the Jeep for less than that. They can be controlled by the hi beam switch and guess what : on low beam...I just slow down a bit...
Some of these manufacturers just floor me...

I don't understand. Are any of these better options than a HID projection headlamp? I know they last longer, but are they brighter? Longer throw or what? Can someone...um...illuminate me? (Sorry...had to :)
