New JW Speaker 8700 Evolution 2 LED head lights looks very nice

That's interesting that there was a delay with the KC harness too. I had assumed it was a farad issue that JWS was facing, going from a design with higher amperage draw to one with less.
I'm thinking that maybe the lamp itself has some measure of capacitance built in...?

hmmm, maybe unkown to the manufacturer as well. hopfully JWS takes care of their early adapters to the evo 2. warranty should come into effect there. I know that when I had an issue, it was a direct swap for a new one at the dealership. even after we found it was my wireing in my jeep that had a hiccup.

To be fair, I can't really say I expect to get anything as they work just fine. Being that they don't include vehicle specific adapters I would have needed to buy something anyhow but since they didn't have one, a public apology for not fully testing them and a statement that they will warranty them when used with a relay type harness that is not their own would be nice. But even that is asking for a lot these days...

You are much more tolerant than I am. If something does not work right with rigs, I am not a happy camper. A long delay when switching from low to high would "light me up" so to speak. They n fix it considering the originals never did it. Warranty should take care of it like I said.

Having a very long delay like that between the beam switching is not what I call working correctly. JWS hopfully stands behind their products and fixes it for you. No other LED lighting system does it. I have friends with JWs, Anzos, petersons, and truck lites. None of these do that, only the new evo 2's. Anyone else having this issue?

Problem solved. :wings:
The headlights look exactly the same. The born-on date is a little more than a month newer. There might be something different inside, a resistor perhaps, but maybe not.
The adapters are a bit different -- noticeably different wire on the exit side and different plugs.
I just buttoned it all up and the highbeam to lowbeam transition time is negligible at under half a second.

I'll try to get a hold of Jason and let him know. Hopefully it's just a swap of the adapters to solve the issue for early adopters of the product.

Is there an exact model number for the newer, issue free models? I've got a ton of Amazon points to use, and theyre on there, but I'd like to make sure I'm getting the right ones...

I'd advise contacting JWS Customer Service. Mine looked a little on the prototype side of commerce...

Any hotspoting with the new JW's - its the only thing that i don't like about the TL's
i could be convinced to switch (and then use the TL's back on the D90 where they came from)

With proper adjustment, no not really. The stock buckets they sit in are adjusted from the factory to overlap the beams near the passenger side edge of the road. Adjusting them to where they are centered in the lane makes them every bit as good or better than my wife's QX56 with no hot spots or patterning.

I'm less than 5 minutes from you if you'd like to see them before buying, just let me know.

Thanks Hilldweller,
as it turns out, a good friend of ours clued me in that the missus ordered a set of these for me for Xmas, so I guess I'll find out the hard way. She ordered them 2 days ago...Hopefully the "fixed" ones...black. there's a set of PSC Brawler Rockers going under the tree too.
going to have to go big for her this year ;)

Knot - that would be cool - maybe meet up at Archibalds for a light "test" - I also need to figure out how to adjust the lights side to side since it is fixed stock. Order another adjuster screw i assume.

Just let me know when. It would have to be after 9pm mon-thurs but anytime fri-sun, have a very odd schedule these days...

I added new adjuster screws to mine but the factory screws can be played with also. Just can't adjust them without pulling the headlight.
