Got mine in November last year from Competitive Edge Products. Very good customer service.

Mines been fantastic. Competitive Edge was fast to ship mine out...no complaints at all. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one. I kinda wish Kodiak would get into the RTT market.

To be honest, I can't imagine not having the VX series with this FL heat.

Thanks gentleman!

Found a damaged but repaired, new in box Jet Tent f30 (10x10) for sale for $900. It is available now and could get it before my camping trip next weekend. Has a lot of features I like over the Kodiak but it is still $300 more than the VX model. It also looks like I may not have the funds to buy a new tent before the trip anyway. Getting the tent before my trip is kinda why I steered away from the VX. May be a moot point now.

So I am stuck.

Kodiak 10x10 VX for $600
Available in a month or so.

Or

Jet Tent F30 10x10 for $900
Available as soon as I sell my motorcycle.

Check out the for sale section. A guy is selling a Delux Kodiak 6 person for $300. I think he wants $50 to ship it. Might not be a bad deal if you don't mind not having the big triangle side windows.

I have had the "deluxe" 10x10 since 2008, and irbid by far, the bet tent I have ever owned. I have had it in 80 mph winds, in driving rain at 30-40mph, and 6" of snow without problems. After 5 years, I would certainly buy it again as it's just that good. Thing is, as long as I take care of it, my kid will be using it with his kids...

For those of you with the 10'x10' Kodiak tents, what are your thoughts on fitting 3 guys with cots and gear in one? It would be for about a week. I'm thinking it's going to be to small, but figured I'd ask.

Kind of small...it's just perfect with 2 cots or a queen size airbed, but with 3 cots, it would be cramped. It might be possible, with all gear stowed under the cots, but still cramped.

With normal sized cots, I think it would be fine.

I have a 10x10 and we fit 3 people fine. We also had a stove going because it was cold as hell out so that takes up a decent amount of space.

We would store some stuff in Tupperware outside the tent and clothes and stuff inside. It definitely won't be like a big living room but it is so nice to be 6'4" and be able to stand up and move around a bit.

Also, I did notice when it was pouring you could feel the wet canvas so I couldn't exactly butt up against the canvas. Again, having the stove going keeps things pretty dry.

I think it would be too small for three cots. My wife and I use a 10X10 Kodiak with two 32 x 82 x 19 Slumberjack cots and there's no way to get another cot in there. Granted those Slumberjack cots are big. If you had three narrower cots side by side it would take up the whole 10X10 foot print.

Two 10X10 tents would be perfect, your two buddies in one and you and your gear in the other. If one of your buddies stays home then only put up one tent.

Ya I have the same cots. I went and looked at one yesterday and thought it was to small also. It's a shame, it was used but in great shape.

Bringing this back since it seems to be the most recent Kodiak thread. I am looking to buy a good tent for my family of 4 and the 10x14 Kodiaks seems to be what I am looking for. Here is where I would like some guidance though, I am mostly going to be camping in Arizona I imagine Oct-May and maybe during the summer go further north to avoid the heat and camp there as well. Now do I spend the extra coin on the VX model with the windows or step down to the deluxe with the door window or just go with the old school one with just the two windows. Is going with the extra windows that the VX offers worth the $140? I am new to Arizona and only camped a few times in my RTT before deploying and selling my RTT and with having small children I am going to wait awhile before I do the RTT route again. Anyways, just looking for some help getting swayed one way or another. Maybe competitiveedgeproducts will offer 5% off sometime soon.

I think the extra $ for the XV is definitely worth it. Those side windows are huge and when they are zipped opened it really helps with ventilation. Hottest we've had ours was daytime high temps in the 90s over on the Colorado River and even with the side windows open it was pretty hot in the tent. We have found that having all four sides of the tent screened really aids with ventilation on those warm sunny days, it's nice to be able close up the sunny side of the tent and vent opened the shaded side and having all four sides available is helpful.

Here is a shot with the sunny side closed and the shady side opened.
