New Land Cruiser

I debated between a Land Rover LR 4 Fully loaded which approached $70k and a new Land Cruiser (I talked the dealer down to $70k) so I could chose either for basically the same price. I have had a LR Disco II and LR 4 and loved them both but I always wanted a Land Cruiser.
So yesterday I pulled the trigger and bought the Land Cruiser. I pick it up tomorrow.
So, for some fun discussion here are three questions:
1. Did I make the right choice?
2. Any hints or suggestions for the new vehicle?
3. Has anyone installed a 2 Meter Ham Radio in a 2013 Land Cruiser? If so where did you put it and how did you run the wires? Is it a hard vehicle in which to route custom wiring?

Thanks, excited about tomorrow. (Trading in a Grand Cherokee Overland - nice and capable vehicle but not an exciting one).

You must be great at negotiating... last 2013 LC on the lot I saw was north of $90k! Congrats, I have read great things on the latest LCs! 15 years or so I hope to have one.

He probably got the last one in stock under invoice price, talking about being at the right place, right time!

Here in my area we do not have a big market for new Landcruisers, so when we get somebody interested in one they usually give them away. Leases are more common in this area vs purchases on this kind on vehicle!

Congratulations on the purchase and let the games begin! I mean the modifications!:wings:

Exact same truck as mine. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. In regards to cost I bought mine in March of 2013 for invoice, dealers really can't move these trucks so it's pretty easy to get them down on price.

Thanks RangeBrover, I appreciate it. I usually leave feeling taken advantage of after I buy a new car but this time I had three dealers bidding against each other. I think I did ok. I had to drive 70 miles to Lexington to pick it up but I know the Louisville Toyota dealers will still service it.

Just be careful with service and do your own homework. The dealer I purchased my 200 from had never serviced a 200 before so you run into a lot of techs that don't know what they're doing. Enjoy the truck, it's a beast and I know you'll love it. There's nothing like wheeling with cooled seats and a cold drink in the center console. Great to see more 200's coming into the fold.

Welcome from Richmond KY! You got a great deal and I'm very jealous. What are your plans for it?

Plans are minor for now. I have a brush guard and window rain guards ordered and will put my ham radio in it next week. This weekend I'll be learning how to use all the electronic goodies ( which I love).
