Last steps installing the Air tank for accesories, after some discussion whit a friend truck mechanic, I agree to fit a extra tank whit a reduced presure to disconect It in case of faliure, and do not use the two std tanks for It, like this the pneumatic system of the truck Will be running any way, I use a wabco presure reducer valvle , adjusted to 8 bar, and also one on/off valvle just in case for security.I need now just conect the tank whit the valvle , the tank is 25 liters, It is enought for small tools and for tyres

That looks good. I would really like to add a system like that, too. It's on my long list of future upgrades. At what location did you tap into the truck system?

Its very usefull , I think, so, my truck do not have Air dryer so frist I did, was to bring the Air from the compresor to the dryer, As I supose, your one has so , from the dryer It goes to the antefrezee valvle, and from this point to the four way valvle, this is the point to take the Air just before the antefrezee valvle, in my case I remove this valvle because I dont want to fit metanol in the system , after you go in a presure regulator valvle , I take used wabco ones, and I set Up to 8 , because in this point you have 18 bars, and from this to the on /off valvle, for security, in case of your tank or conexions leak Air, I build in alu tubes the conexión until this point, after you can yous poliurtane tubes..., Tank , conexions.... In the first pic you see the two valvles, and the line caming from the dryer

We are planning to do the same, but with a large tank that can be kept at full pressure. The 'link tap' will be in the cab besides the drivers seat. Hoping we never need it, but it gives the option of jumping in the cab turning the key and opening the valve instantly giving you full truck air tanks for a quick departure if you find yourselves suddenly in a hostile environment.

Last updates after Christmas trip to North of Spain and Portugal, first day was a bit hard...after some km the truck stop running just 150 km far of home...first check and I found no fuel on the pump and no presure on the hand fuel pump, and looking beter I discover one crack on the crystal fuel cap...It was my fault because the metal Air presure line caming from the compresor was touching this part....I just replace the compresor the week before....stupid by my side.....just few minutes after , the police stop on the Highway and push me to call asistance...if this happen in other place , for sure I just try to find the spare and ready but there....no meaning
The second day and the rest were much beter...we did 2200 km in 8 days whit 350 liters of Diesel, the AVG speed on Highway was 90 km/h at 1900 rpm, I can confirm the BEST way if you plan to use unimog on highways is the overdrive and the long ratios ...the temperatures on the hubs never over 30 even last day after 600 km

I'm sorry to hear that you had to get assistance, but I'm glad it was a simple fix. I think I'll go check to make sure that we have clearance between the compressed air line and the fuel pump on our truck.

350 liters of fuel for 2200 km is about 14.78 miles per gallon That's good mileage. Thank you for posting actual numbers. It is very helpful.

Looking for pass the last technical Inspection(I Hope) Im fixing all the details to do It just in one Time, the main front lifhts were the last thing to do It, the original ones whit 40 years are not producing the amount of light you need , I was looking some ideas un the forum and I found some conversions Who get me some ideas...so finally I use hella H7 staff I think is a Big diference in power...honestly I prefer the look of the original , but the price is out of range

So, I bought It in eBay , is the cheapest place I found It, so , they send me from England and no box, and no references about , I atach a copy of the purchase

Whit the new lights is necesary to protect It, It is very exposed...

Jostt - the guards look great - I am sure much less expensive than the OEM versions.

After cross referencing some information, I think these are the Hella headlight part numbers. Maybe you can confirm?
