New Nissan Truck to be Unveiled June 11th

it looks like the new frontier based on the new pathfinder body. So it seems they intend to sight in a bullseye with a cummins diesel motor and then move the target off center by taking away an actual frame.

Once again, clutching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I saw a presser a while ago (cant find it now) that discussed it. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

I put the wife on notice. If they release a diesel pro4x quad cab with a real frame, our 2014 truck goes bye-bye.

I'm definitely going to place an order for one if that combination is available. I miss my 07 tremendously and can't wait to see this truck and its specs!

Looks like the new Frontier to me. Probably body on frame, and glad they've finally redesigned it.

Let's hope the rumors are true in Nissan sticking with the Cummins powerplant for North America and not just being a "global-except-NA" truck. Hell, the block is American so it shouldn't have to pass ridiculous US emissions testing. Let's really hope they didn't castratre the truck with 8spd automatic transmissions and styling it like the Nissan SUV's of late... ghastly and a complete joke. I really hate those LED daytime running lights too. Stop this lame trend.

From automobilemag.com:
Although previous versions of the Frontier and Navara have been virtually identical, a Nissan U.S. spokesperson told us that this teaser “is not an indication” of the next Nissan Frontier pickup for the U.S. market. This could mean that the next-generation U.S.-spec Nissan Frontier for the U.S. will differentiate itself further from the Navara. This would make sense, as this hints that Nissan is further optimizing the next-generation Frontier to better compete in the U.S. midsize pickup segment which will gain two new competitors this year in the form of the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon.

Rust does a body good.
I'm guessing if we do get the diesel it won't be in the first model year. At this point I'm just hoping they don't go all pathfinder on it and the Xterra comes shortly behind.

More and more, I'm thinking this announcement is going to cover a redesign of the world-market Navara ... whether it gets extended to the USDM Frontier remains to be seen. But until I see as much in writing from Nissan North America, or Nissan corporate, I'm considering it all just speculation. If this announcement is for a new body-on-frame world market truck, with new diesel options, and we *don't* ultimately get a version of it along with those motors here in the US; I'd lay odds that there are going to be a lot of very frustrated Nissan fans looking at Ram Eco Diesels, GMC/Chevy Canyon/Colorado diesels and *maybe* at the Titan diesel ... but I guess only time will tell.

I'm in agreement with this - I think this will be the world market truck. They are usually at least visually similar to our Frontier, so I feel like we'll at least get an idea of the direction they're going.

Neat. According to that video, the new truck can handle all of the snow that Thailand gets....:Wow1:

--I'm really really hoping that they slot a diesel for North America in this one. Might help iron out future problems for the (supposed) diesel Titan...

I'd like an 8 speed auto.....better mileage, lower first gear, what's not to like? As long as it isn't a cvt I'm happy. The block being American I won't even go into....

Hopefully it's a neat truck.
