Man, that looks nice! Great work. I've enjoyed watching this upgrade -- and I love those old Apache campers.
Our family camped in a 1968 Apache Eagle for many years. My Dad sold it without telling me in the late 80s 'cause he knew I'd insist he keep it if he told me. I still miss it. One of the weak points in the original design was the legs. They were junk -- the springs broke, the legs rusted and pivots got tight, and especially the metal was gauged too low and they buckled. Your upgrades look terrific.
Apache used to make a "storm window" kit for the two triangular windows on the big wall opposite the door. These were vinyl windows that zipped into a second set of zippers that would let light come in even if it was raining. We found them really useful, especially camping in the east where it was common to be in the tent during rain.
If anyone runs into an old Eagle with dozens of decals on the side from states and landmarks visited and a special cutout in one of the bench seats for a Coleman lantern's ball top to fit -- lemme know -- it's our old Apache.
