So I thought space might be an issue so I did a test packing of pretty much every single thing I plan to take...turn out space IS an issue, but not like I thought. I was thinking I'd have to get saddle bags for the tank to hold extra crap and be packed to the gills, but it turns out everything fits very well, and I actually don't have enough in the side cases to keep stuff from bouncing around and possibly damaging things...hum, what to do with too MUCH space on a motorcycle :smilies27





What you cant see is that the side cases are barely full, and what is strapped to the side wont fit in the pelicans no matter what else is in there Guess I'll just have to get people lots of presents as I go eh? :bike_rider:

P.S. Yes, that is a KLR/BMW sticker on the windshield, reminds me of how I got my addiction to motorcycle touring!

Finishing up the last of my preparations. While I was doing some contemplating one night when Carter (the mongrel) came out to say I and I had an epiphany...he would fit!


Sadly we are planning on taking a sailboat around the Darien, and dogs are not allowed, so he still cant go :cry

Forrest brought me some Wolfman panniers


While on a ride the other day my tool tube exploded, with the loss of many X-mas tools, so they are now contained in a canvas bag that will be strapped down and not likely to explode.


New Heidenau K60's are mounted




I wired in and mounted new waterproof switch and relay (wired to the high beams) for the FF50 aux lights




Mounted Quick Fists to the rear of the 1550's for the MSR fuel bottles and put red/white reflective tape all over everything


Wolfman bottle holster deal for my insulated bottle to the front of the right box


And a third Quick Fist on the left box for a fire extinguisher


I finally got around to putting a lock on the Pelican LOC so that it doesn't fall off or get stolen


Few more very minor things to take care of and we're off Tuesday!

Looking good Clark! Just completed Colorado to Panama last month and it was a blast. You are going to have a great time.
