New Roamer1

I picked up my new R1 and towed it 600 miles home. One night at ROA and one night in Ely Nevada with a temp of about 20 F. Right away I can see the improvements over the X22. Better insulation, more sophisticated heating system, higher quality cabinets. Air suspension to adjust ride height/fore and aft leveling, and give side to side leveling. The X22 towed fine behind my Tremor, but the R1 with its longer tongue and disk brakes is even better. The entry door and storage doors have better latches and seals, and with 20 miles on a dirt road there was no dust intrusion. 1,100 AH of batteries in an interior compartment that is heated. 1,240 watts of solar allows use of the AC and induction cooking without hookups. A very nice exterior pull-out kitchen. The R1 package seems like a lot of expense over the X195, but there is a lot to it.

Really nice looking, congrats! What are your plans with it? Extended travel, months, etc.?

Very nice trailer and i know we all look forward to the tasteful upgrades you will do

It is just so much more expensive for bed sheets, cups and silverware. I called a few Imperial dealers and they offer outdoor kitchens and still sell them in the 135-140 range.

A year ago RoamerOne was going to be so much different than a X195 but Imperial Outdoors must have halted that? I saw them going to a yacht or boat show to get ideas and at one point they showed a slide out?
And the price on their website went up another $10,000 recently so it’s a $20,000 to $30,000 difference from a X195

I like ROA and unrelated call myself a roamer but paying so much extra is a hard pill to swallow

So 195 is 21k less with stage 3 solar and Lithium which is the same as R1.

So basically 21 more for an outdoor kitchen, different color and some other accessories.

If I got this right and you don't qualify for a roa vendor discount kind of a no brainer

Congrats on your new trailer. I think that you bought one of the best trailers on the market, and it will be worth every penny. Quality does not come cheap! You only had to cry once. Enjoy

We'll be doing lots of camping within 600 miles or so, and am planning a trip across the Country, the Outer Banks, Pennsylvania and Maine. I like going to Death Valley, up into the Sierras and to local lakes.

Death Valley is a piece of cake compared to the US Interstates and secondary roads between NV and PA/ME/NC. That cross country trip will really give you a chance to test out how rugged the R1 is. ?

No need to pay extra, if there is no extra value. But there is a lot more to it than bed sheets, etc. However, I agree, it is a lot of money and was a stretch for me.

I'd like to know more about the outdoor kitchens being offered by other dealers as the R1 Kitchen was difficult to make and it is very nice. The slideout is designed for 1,000 lbs and needs no support post, it has a Blackstone griddle, sink with water and drawers.

Here is a partial list: Outdoor kitchen that is very well designed, gun safe, upgraded upholstery, complete tool kit and torque wrench, tire monitor system, backup camera system, Bluetooth leveling system, auxiliary power supply/charger in case the batteries get too cold and shut off, bedding, silverware, dishes, glasses, mugs, induction ready pots and pans, folding chairs, trasharoo style rear bag, High Lift mount, television, prewired for Starlink and media input, propane quick connect. Rear storage box/High Lift jack mount (think this is optional on the X195).

With cash, cry once. With a loan, maybe you don't cry more than once, but you will at least get a lump in your throat once a month. :)

Very nice looking. On the truck side of the McHitch, how any inches of drop do you have on the receiver hitch? It's riding perfectly.

The R1 went through a lot of changes from concept to completion. It ended up a bit smaller than originally planned. If you can find an X195 with an outdoor kitchen to your liking, and the size is right for you, that sounds like a pretty good deal.

The top of the drawbar tongue is about equal to the bottom of the receiver opening. So, I guess you could call it a 1or 2" drop. But of course, it depends on the style of hitch too. I came home with a Cruisemaster, but it will get a McHitch before I tow it again. And also, the truck was pretty much empty, so when geared up it will squat a bit more. The tongue is just a bit high with no gear in the truck. I took a few drawbars with me to get it hooked up at ROA and it came out pretty good. Look for the R1 in this clip.

Love to see if you can make it through the sand on the Outer Banks Core islands with that puppy. Maybe dual axles will help with flotation on the sand. I got stuck for a bit just with my 2500 pounder.

Did not mean to rain on your parade. Your trailer looks awesome. Love the gray. She does look lonely on the loneliest road in America. Are you going to install the positive air pressure deal in your R1. I want to do that on my trailer

You definitely need a lot of Pink Floyd to make it across the Loneliest Highway. From the angle in the photo above, it looks ball hitch is on about a two inch rise from the truck receiver to where the "ball" is located.
