New roof rack option from Ace Engineering

For those of you who prefer "Made in America" the folks at Ace are now making a roof rack for 4 door JKs. It looks very nice, and uses its own brackets for a very low-profile mount.

I've reached out to them to ask whether they'd tested it for compatibility with a Rhino backbone, but they have no idea (and declined my offer to help them figure it out by providing measurements).

For those of us with Sunrider tops (or who like to run with the Freedom Panels removed) this looks like a very good option. Maybe I'll work out a deal with them at some point in the future to buy one with a "returnable if we can't make it fit" deal of some sort...

ACE offers 'everything but the rack' for this product for $250+shipping. You can then build your own aluminum rack using components from https://www.tnutz.com/ . I am in the process of this. For a few hundred bucks (or much less, depending on the design) in aluminum and the stout base components from the ACE rack, you can build an extremely strong, and an very light rack solution. I understand some may just prefer an out of the box solution though.

I'll post some progress/build pics once I am far enough along in the process. I am pairing this rack project with jscherb's modular hardtop and barn door projects. Part of my reason for going with ACE's rack components is that it provides a tie-in element for what will become a stand alone roof panel on my JKU. I intend to predominately run with no rear or side windows/panels (roof only).
