Rode my motorbike down to Newport beach to pick this up yesterday. Got soaked!
I have been looking in earnest for about a month and had gone back and forth between the Disco and RRC. It came down to the RRC LWB simply because I love the way it looks and the add interior space.
This one had been lovingly cared for by an older couple in Malibu. I received a huge service history with many big ticket items done in the last year.
It has been re-sprayed and the paint is an 8. Very clean and straight, drove the same and towed a trailer for the first time in its life. The trip over the Grape was a breeze, cruised at 60 with no silliness from the temp gauge. My first road trip impression is very good, It was fairly quiet, even with the sunroof open and the suspension was very smooth and compliant. It loves the fuel but no more than my Super Duty did. The airbags are gone, replaced with 2" OME and shocks.
The headliner is new and the seats show wear but not excessive cracking. All the other trucks I was looking at were missing the parcel shelf and the rear quarter interior panels, this one is complete there as well. The only thing not working is the cruise, which I certainly could have used on the long slog back this morning. Any help here would be appreciated.
All in all, a good find and solid platform to build our first Expo rig.
