Do you guys still have a few autographed copies available? I think I would like two. Is shipping and handling double for two books to the same address, or charged only once?

I was going to order only one for a Christmas gift for my father. My wife wisely said I should get a copy for myself, as it will save me $200.00 later. LOL

Too funny as it made my Christmas list as well.

Yes sir, we have some left. I think there were seven when I checked this morning. The S&H cost is multiplied for each book. (double for two)

Okay, I'll take two of the autographed copies :)

The one bright spot of my week was the arrival of this book today. I've had a house full of company and have been battling the flu.

Excellent! Glad to hear the reports of safe arrivals. Keep them coming and let us know what you think of the book.

Just got mine today. Great looking book and autographed too. The only problem is that it's 12:30 AM and I have to get up in the morning and I'm having a hard time stopping reading! More like this from Tom would be great!

Received my copy of Quiet for a Tuesday recently. Excellently packaged and in perfect shape. The paper used in the book is beautiful stuff, and the font is interesting, unique but very readable. Marvelous photos of course.

Thus far, the factor I am enjoying most is how utter different his approach to off roading is from what most of us have experienced in the States. Here, for the most part, we are looking for the toughest trails and biggest obstacles that we can safely navigate with a bit of challenge. For Tom Sheppard, simply being there is challenge enough, he is always looking for ways to minimize wear and abuse on his rig, for the obvious reason that its his lifeline.

I read my copy during Christmas, and a very enjoyable read it was. The paper and photographs is gorgeous, and he manages very effectively to communicate why he loves the desert so much and and provide a very interesting narrative.

I have a couple of minor issues, tough, but don't let it put you off buying the book: I wish he hadn't done the typography himself. I'm not a professional, but the font selection and layout was just slightly "wrong". I'm sorry that I can not provide a coherent explanation for this, but as I said I'm not a professional. The other issue is that I fell the book would have benefited from an editor (IIRC no editor was listed) or tighter editing. Sheppard's toughs does tend to wander, and on a couple of occasions I lost track of when the events I were reading about were supposed to happen.

But all in all an excellent read.
