New Tripolina Chair update

I know my wife and I have tried a few of the copies over the years and none have held up well to every-day use without repair and reinforcement.
Looking forward to seeing your version.

We're enjoying the prototype Mike sent us - it's actually better than our old South African models that were the inspiration. I did a review here.

Hmmm, these are interesting. We love our Kermits but the Tripolina looks like it would be more durable for daily use over several months.

One feature about the Kermit we like is that it can folded flat for temporary storage (like a regular lawn chair) without having to completely disassemble it.

Does the Tripolina fold closed for temporary storage or must the fabric and frame be separated?

The Tripolina will collapse with the fabric in place, but not quite as compactly as with it removed. The fabric simply lifts off anyway.

It's almost Spring and no one is more impatient to get these built than I am. We're getting close, tho'.

Done. Email sent. I look forward to receiving your chair updates.

Any more fun pictures you can share? How about one with someone using the chair, or with the chair next to a table?

We are getting closer.

In response to many people indicating that they would prefer a heavy canvas duck seat, we have changed the first run to British tan No. 8 canvas duck. These are shown (in prototype) in the photo below. Note that the trim on the prototypes has olive trim - the production model will have a dark tan trim. All edges are served and seams double stitched.

We are in manufacture on the first run - wood is being milled and metal parts are ordered. Awaiting arrival of the bulk canvas at our production house. Should not be many weeks before we are ready. Based on response from people received so far, we will probably need to immediately begin planning a second production run.

We will NOT be accepting orders until we have everything ready and in final assembly stage. We anticipate having some of these on offer at OverLand Expo - if not before.
