Hello All,
Name is Glenn (obviously :) ) living in the Rep Of Ireland and driving a Diesel Disco 1 , been lurking here for about a month now drooling over trip reports and rig builds , gotta say I love the Toyota Tacoma we dont get them this side of the atlantic same with the Nissan Xterra, anyway my Discoverys name is Dora and shes a 300tdi van model with a few bits an pieces added to make her more useful off the road while still being useful on it, I tend to do as much off roading as possible and travel to various places on our little Island to do so, have yet to do an extended overland trip but its something im aiming for in the coming years hopfully in a 95 series LandCruiser , If I win the lotto ill be doing two things first and I got this idea from lurking in this forum , buying a 100/105 series Landcruiser and 2nd going straight to MOAB :victory::victory: anyway thats enough rambling heres a few pics of my Disco doing her stuff , enjoy

In 2014 we can start bringing some in! Of course they will likely be as rusted as some of the 90/110's that head over, but at least they'll be OE diesel's.

Nice truck Glenn, and lovely country too.

Welcome and nice looking Disco!

Funny that we all covet what we can't have. I am sure the Hilux and Patrol is sold in Ireland.

Yup they stopped the patrol though in 2011 for some strange reason but the hilux is a big big seller here

if you get them from the UK then yup rust might be an issuse over the amount of salt they use on there roads for snow and ice however irish ones dont get subjected to much salt as i think it has only snowed here 3 times in the last 4 years :) buy Irish lol

thanks Ray :)

Welcome.
We could never get commercial variant Disco's over here. :(
the first commercial Disco made by LR was designed by landrover for the irish market they are everywhere here mainly due to tax breaks ie a commercial has annual road tax of €310 were as a 7 seater one is €1005 a year for tax so they are pretty popular here

Welcome to the forum Glenn. Nice Disco you have.
Thanks Mate

That truck is awesome. I wish we could get the two door commercial models over here. I would settle for a two door with windows, but we can't even get that.

Glenn, you only need a rtt or a sleeping platform, and a Good diesel heater to go around the world with that one.
Those are great machines, if you can keep the gremlins away.... :)
