Nice rack!

What is everyone's prefered rack for a full-size van? I can purchase Thule products at a discount but most of the racks I see pictured on expedition/offroad vehicles are something other than Thule/Yakima. I'm just putting a list together at this point but I would like it to carry a few things externally as well as be a mounting point for lights.

Thanks!

Probably because the Thule/Yakima stuff is not very strong. I've really only seen them on Sportsmobiles (pop-top).
Can't say mine is preferred as I didn't shop around, it was on the van when I got it. But it's strong and best of all doesn't use generic mounting, it's specific to the van. It's a Quigley one, download their accessory PDF and it's in there.

I just bought an aluminum cargo rack for the trip from VA to CA, its 11'3" long (full length on an RB Ford) and hooks to the rain gutters, has an 850lb capacity and very strong yet light. As soon as I arrive in CA it is up for sale but it is serving us very well across country. Because I will be going to a CCV pop top kit later this bill be unnecessary for my purposes, but if someone needs a rack, aluminum is strong but light, and my 14yr old son and I installed it ourselves.

I looked at their catalog and didn't see anything other than the Thule, Yakima and the ladder racks. Did I miss it or do they not offer it anymore?

Yep! We have 2 on vans right now, as soon as they go thru the ringer we'll be releasing our new rack system.

Chris, Is your rack going to be E-series specific? Or are us GM guys going to be able to use it as well:sombrero:

Currently have Thule 60" tracks installed. I'm looking for a full length low profile rack that doesn't rely on the Thule/Yakima crossbars and towers

I am using what I thought was a larger Defender Rack that 4wheel parts installed. I am alright happy with it. I think it is about 5' long front to rear. I would go longer if I had it to do over again I would get a bigger rack. I also know the aluminess racks are pretty sweet, but I was reluctant to spend that much chingaling. I really like the look of that Ujoint rack. Looks tough. Would probably be more aero, and would allow form some adjustability in terms of usability.
