Nice USB outlet on sale at Sierra Expeditions

Can it charge 2 iPad's or an iPad and something else? I have a dual usb chager cig adapter and it can only charge one ipad by itself or 2 iphones/ipods. Is each usb outlet rated for 2.1 amps or is it 2.1a total?

Either way it looks like it'd be a nice addition to the DRZ

I got this in from Blue Sea's Design Engineer:

The 1016 has a maximum total output of 2.1 Amps. You will be able to charge two iPads or an iPad and something else – just keep in mind that the unit will be able to supply a maximum of 2.1 Amps. The charging rate may be relatively slow.

I think this would be a great addition to my rig but I have an install question. Would I have to add an inline fuse and wire directly to the vehicles battery or can I tap power from an ignition source?

I found an Add-A-Fuse at a local parts store. Works great for somthing like this.

Take no chances, fuse everything you add.

Definitely add a fuse. With all of the plastic interiors in cars they burn really well.

For me the outlet's power source will not be switched as I want to be able to charge things while the engine is off.
