Hello everyone.

Because we are a couple of students who love to travel we own a Nissan Patrol, which is now become too expensive for us (study...) so with a broken heart, we decided that we will sell it.

About the car:
It's a 1989 Nissan Patrol with 2.8 Turbo Diesel Engine, with rear diff lock. It was well cared for the time i owned it. It has 243kkm on the clock, we drive it for about 10kkm (May 2011), without some big problems.

The modifications on the car are:
BFG AT 33/12,5/15 (9mm of profile, original Nissan rims)
Additionaly added Intercooler
Place for second battery with connections and switch inside (for inside use, when the car is not running)
Snorkel
Bullbar with 4 Hella lights (now only two are on)
Car roof rack with 4 hella working lights and two aluminium travel boxes
Air compressor in the engine room reaching all 4 tyres.
CB station (not in use right now) - with antena on the back
Bed with a lot of space under it inside the car
Removable vents that you can put on the rear window for breathing when sleeping (very good in rain and wind).
Darker windows in the back
extended diff breathers
New glow plug and ignition relay
Fire extinguisher
New clutch cylinder with new pipe
Regular servicing (in half year 2x oil change, gearbox oil, filters (2x), brake fluid, ATF 2x, new thermostate and fluid)

The car is working without problem and can drive you anywhere. On the body it has some scratches but not major ones. Some problems only with the left back door, which you have to open with special technique but it is safer for burgulars. Only the front axle has to be serviced. (~100£) I check the car fluids and suspension every time before longer drive (50km+) and often did a head gasket test. (no bubbles in the fluid)

With the car I give you two hella lights for the front bullbar, CB station, 2 aluminium boxes for the rack, back seats, original airbox and airfilter (Fram).

The car is all in all overland prepared (The plan for this year was Iran).

The photos of the car are here: We tested it in Montenegro mountians and it passed very well (that's the reason for broken heart).

The price?
I'm asking for around 5000£ (6000 euros) for the car. The price is negotiable.

If you are by any chance interested, you can send me an email on nejctrpin[at]gmail.com or nejc.trpin[at]yahoo.co.uk. I will happily answer all the questions you might have or send additional pictures and informations you need.

Location of the car is in Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia, small country near Italy and Austria.

2 more years and it will be 25 years old

Which means no electronic problems, cause it has no electronic at all :)

Still on sale for around 4000 Pounds.

Nobody needs good old reliable Troll, without rust on body and chasis, which is already prepared for traveling around?

I think he made that comment because once a foreign vehicle turns 25 it can be imported into Canada and find it's way into the US. But I could be wrong

Woohoo... Fly and drive..these things are unstoppable.. Great trucks... Not as good as my defender 110... Lol.. But still great trucks..it's a shame we didn't get cool trucks like this in the USA...

Canada is good for 15 yrs or older so most are importing Patrol's from Japan with the TD42 / TD42T 1,000,000 mile bulletproof engine. Not sure about terrain around the globe but here in the BC wilderness, Patrols own Rovers. Especially on steep, rocky terrain. The TD42 and low gears turn the Patrol literally into a tractor tank. Sit back, relax and let the truck/engine do the work. Quite fun.

OP: you've got a nice, clean Patrol. Have you posted it on the other Patrol forums? :smiley_drive:

Don't mean to thread hijack. My apologies.

zimm. specs are listed on the net. pls use google. Nissan TD42 requires an oil with a min 3000 ppm calcium as it is a very high soot motor. With the correct oil, the TD42 will do 1,000,000km's between rebuilds. With the incorrect oil, the valve train can wear out in less than 200,000kms. These figures have been proven on Patrol4wd yahoo groups, oz/saudi Patrol groups and forums as well going back over a decade including my own family's Patrol's.

The trucks are great. They are large, robust and can take extreme heat/cold and terrain. Very useful across the board. The one for sale here is a nice example for touring.

I totally agree with the comments. If there would be no study payment for me, I would not sell it. It is probably the best truck I have and will have in my life.

Also the RD28T engine, with proper service and knowledgement of driving (cold, hot engine) can prevent the misterious head gasket blowns, and also goes to 1.000.000 kilometers or maybe even miles. :)

I posted a thread to Australia Patrol 4x4 forum, but not the sale's one...

I also have a serious buyer here in Slovenia, so probably the thread will be closed in a few days. Thanks for all the comments!

Greetz!
