I had to back one of the rouges{spelling}out of my parking lot the other day,You can not see out of the damn things. Then she shows me all the back up cameras and alarms and such. They put the safety crap in there because by design you can not see.Huge blind spots.Garbage if you ask me.

So I think the CUV is the natural progression from the SUV boom of the 90s. People got use to the higher riding position etc, minivans have the family connotation that all the hipsters are trying to avoid, and higher gas prices mean smaller vehicles are more affordable.

Its the millenials' stationwagon. And stationwagons have always been more useful than sedans.

Greg,

I would disagree, but it may just be my confirmation bias coming out. Our Rogue has much better visibility than I had in my previous vehicles (1997 CRV and XJ Cherokees). And yes it does have awesome surround view monitors that a naive friend of mine thought was a live satellite feed of my car.

I can only assume Nissan is going to kill off the Juke soon. Juke, Qashqai, Rogue, Pathfinider—just so many crossovers.

I like the subcompact crossover category. It's more like a hatchback than an SUV. I can get plenty-o-stuff in them. A bit more ground clearance compared to regular hatchbacks.

At least in Finland the Nissan Qashqai has been the most-sold car for a couple of years now. I'd imagine the situation is the same in much of Europe. I guess you could call it Nissan's Qash-qow.
