No brand GPS

I see a lot of No-brand 5.0 GPS units on e-bay, any idea on if these are any good. They look like they have everything one needs including the kitchen sink.

The cheap ones only tell you where you are
the expencive ones tell you where your going and how long till you arrive !


Cost of the unit is only part of the issue.

Available maps ? what year where they last updated

Topo mapping ready ?

Nautical map ready ?

Size of memory

Global map included ? if required

ease of use, brightness and clarity of screen.

Horizontal or vertical use

vehicle mounts ?

Hard wire cables

USB ?

Service centers ?

The first one is just a screen, by the description- no actual function

The second looks like its a GPS- but no info on the mapping

a GPS with only you are here

and a dodgy out of date mapset is as usefull as a map without a compass at night

Thanks, I'm new at this I had a magellen 2200TThat had street maps but I would love to down load topo maps for trails and track where I have been. I liked the big screen in the ones I posted.

Out of date maps ? I live in California and we have not built a new road or repaired one since Jerry Brown was Governor.
