popped off the second valve cover today, no loose valvetrain there either, started pulling the head and figured I mgiht as well get the damn engine out. So I blasted everything with PB blaster and started pulling the exhaust and other **** off.

Has anyone removed the ABS?

Anyone know what the 4x4 vacuum lines do when subjected to boost pressure? might need to look at a turbo diesel vac diagram.

James, I didn't try and download it from that link cause the site appeared to be pretty slow. Can I assume you have? If so, is it the actual Mitsu Factory Service Manual or the Haynes manual as it seems to indicate on that page? If it's the Haynes manual, I HIGHLY recommend obtaining the actual OEM Mitsu FSM instead. I've heard so many inconsistencies in the Haynes and Chilton's that I only consider them last resource manuals.

You can find the actual Mitsu printed FSM for the TD engines at mitsubishi links dot com. In the case of the 2.8, I believe it's the 4M40-28-diesel link on that page.

I have the mitsuishi manual for the 4M40-T but I wasn't able to remember where I downloaded it from. But the address of the site I linked looks familiar, but the layout wasn't.

Haynes manuals seem a bit more wrong than right sometimes though

I'm just asking since my 35's and 33's fit within the fender well on my SR. Running ~4" backspacing.

Just looked it up. On my 35's (35x12.5-15) I'm running them on 15x8 rims with -17mm offset / 3.75 backspacing and they fit within the wheel well. I have too since California will ticket you if the tread extends past the fenders.
