Back in the day (like the 60's and 70's) you could buy 'elephant's foot' sleeping bags that were only about long enough to reach your waist, and a down parka that zipped to it...for the 'ultralight' climbers of the day...I imagine that wearing the parka 24/7 or whatever would get it pretty damp from perspiration, which is why I guess the idea died out.

I remember a West German Army (Bundeswher) system that was similar from the '70's. It was a sleeping bag that could be worn as a field coat with the leg portion tucked/buttoned up waist high that was let down on night watch or to sleep, it had a rubberized canvas shell. Highly prized by us tankers back in the day

When I put on my work parka it is almost like a sleeping bag. If I got the matching down pants as well I would be set! Just pull up the hood and take a snooze in a snowbank.

Yeah, Canada Goose parkas are great.

They're very hard to find in stock, though...especially the 'serious' styles vs. the stylish ones.
