NOOB question about springs for an AT trailer

Okay, I am new to the site and have been reading through many of the post about AT trailers and getting ideas for building my own. I have the fabs skills and tools, so that part is not a problem. On to the question.

I have the stock set of leaf springs from my 2000 XJ, that were replaced with OME springs. Since I have these stock ones, I was thinking I could use them as springs for an AT trailer. If too stiff, I could remove one leaf to soften it up. Any pro's or con's to using these? My thinking is the longer spring should make it ride fairly well behind the XJ.

Thanks for any help or ideas. Just starting to get my ideas together. I'm going to put an RTT on the trailer as well as the "normal" stuff for camping.

Use them! They will be just fine. They should not not be too stiff. (depending on how light the trailer is XJ springs are soft to begin with) The second reason IMHO is if you break a spring on the XJ in the middle of nowhere, You can remove it from the trailer and get back. I built my CJ trailer using a matching diff and spring set up, IF I had to I can use the entire assembly or parts. :)
