Last night I camped in Joshua Tree. First night in my van. :)

More on my blog. I forgot my solar panel in San Diego so I need to ship it. Anyone driving from CA to CO soon? lol

-Kyle

Edit: Thanks for the tip on neutral coasting Aaron. I've been getting really good at it and hitting 125+ mpg down mountains. (;

Went to see Derek today. Lots of exciting stuff planned for Winzling. I am going to have a hard time waiting the two weeks for him to get done. I'll save the juicy details for the day I get her back. In the mean time I am in a Super 8 eating candy and drinking coffee. Tomorrow when he takes custody of Winzling for a few weeks I will be entirely 100% homeless. Headed back to San Diego tomorrow AM to watch my sister's place and then back here on the 17th.

Colorado Camper Van is a quality operation, I thoroughly enjoyed my tour and seeing some of the materials he'd be using in the build. Derek is such a great dude, a family man and a hard working all American business man, the kind of person I want my money going to, lemme tell you.

The countdown begins.

Derek just sent me these. Needless to say I am impressed as heck.
Gutting.

The good stuff. Dude seriously thinks of everything. Look how tall the faucet is so I don't need to fight with dishes in the sink, and can probably wash my hair in there. He even made sure I had room for my battery behind my seat and moved the seat all the way back in case a giant needs to drive my van. (;

The white box rear is the LP and water access point outside for my Ecotemp L5.

I am seriously impressed, and it's not even done! Can't wait until next week.

Luckily Derek tests everything he sends off so he'd be getting a bath, not me. (; That's what's in there it looks like, right?

Thanks!

Yea, you have a bar faucet. Not only higher up over the sink, but doesn't stick out into the sink as far either. Good stuff.

I'll take 'gnarly as hell' for 500, Alex. Flight leaves at 12ish tomorrow, I should be in possession of my van again by 4 or 5. Woohoo.

I heard from him yesterday, he was at Derek's getting some final things installed. He's supposed to head to my place next to perform a tune up and steal the cruise control pieces from my parts van.

Sent him a text inquiring his current location, but haven't received a reply yet.

Update: Text reply says, "Iowa"

In Illinois, already having a blast with Aaron and Jayme. Might be heading back through Grand Junction in a month+ or so. Van is running great, the conversion looks great, Colorado Camper Van did a killer job. Thanks again Derek. I will post some photos when I dig my camera out of the van. Looking forward to getting back West in a month or so.

Put down some peel and stick linoleum flooring in Winzling the other day. I've also included some photos of her current setup and systems. Spark plugs and solar panel to follow shortly. Then it's off to Badlands in Attica Indiana on the 27th or 28th with Jayme and Aaron for some fun and camping, then onward to Connecticut.

She needs a wash, no point since we are going to Badlands.
