I liked it Michael, it's simple but I think that's the idea. A good example piece for your class, as it allows Kate to be seen as a person, and not simply a prop. The use of the TS was also effective.
I am not a videographer in any sense but I will provide my thoughts.
I really liked that this was done in b&w. For me b&w always provides evokes an emotional response because you are not distracted by colors- b&w keeps the viewers eyes on the intended focus- in this case Kate.
I think the shallow depth of field worked well in some situations but not in others. Up to :30 is works well but :31-:38 it is distracting for the top half of her head to be OOF. I love the part where she walks by starting at :44
There are some times I think it would have been better to be moving with her and times where you were moving that I think would have been better stationary.
Movement is a bit choppy so I am guessing you don't have a rigging for fluid movement. You could have used a tripod in a shopping cart to make movement quite a bit smoother. On that note- Putting the camera on the bottom of a shopping cart and leading or following her while she was sweeping could have been a pretty cool angle.
The text at the end doesn't really hit me either. Not sure how that can come across better but it misses just a bit.
Thanks you guys. I appreciate all of the feedback. As this is a new medium for me I am still exploring and finding out what works and what doesn't. Your thoughts fall on willing ears.
