Off Road Mini- Camper Build- DREAMS COME TRUE (please help me)

It has been my dream to build my own trailer for years. I love everything about the outdoors and I want the ultimate adventure camper that can hold me and my dog and all my gear. After dreaming for years I am finally getting the chance to build one. My dad (experienced woodwork/anything construction related) is going to help me build it when I get off for summer break (yes, I am still in college). After we build I plan on taking it around the US to visit some of the National Parks (I am entering the NPS pro ranger program next spring).
SO, I need some help getting together solid plans for my trailer. Ive looked in seemingly 1000's of forums and google searches now and have yet to find the perfect plan. What I am aiming for is something like the Moby 1 trailers. My dad and I plan to modify certain things but we just need an overall plan to help get the wheels turning! I played around in sketch up and was able to get my general idea down.... its a rough sketch for sure.

If anyone knows any plan or anything that will help us get started or have any additional questions, please let me know.

Looks good, I see you have two doors, other than pretty typical. For the frame, look at the trailer builds here, a simple ladder frame is all you need. As for axle, suspension, how is it going to be used, just national parks or off road rock climbing? What size is it? What is going to pull it. Heavy loads go forward, kitchen is usually in the back so that spare tire looks cool back there, it could be in the way so you may need a swing arm mount, otherwise, I'd stick the spare on top of on the tongue. You can build your box a little higher and have basement storage, water, battery, outside and inside access if you lift your bed.

Before everyone jumps in on what you might do, might explain the use in more detail, your pulling rig, 4 seasons or 2, propane, need electric with a gen set or solar? We usually assume the toughest trails and use if not detailed and you'll be overloaded with everything tat might go on a trailer.
More info is needed, the more details you give the better the suggestions are likely to be.

Before asking for help how to build your custom trailer, Id suggest you start putting pen to paper with things YOU need and or want incorporated into your trailer.

Its a custom camper after-all. Figure out what will best suit you, then start looking for ways to make that happen.

Treat every desire/need as a problem, and address each and every one by finding the solution. Then work it into your design.

Agree with both of the above statements.

I would sit down and establish a list of known variables first. Track width, overall height (if it matters), Weight, etc..

List out what you want, water, hot water, stove, sink, AC, Heat, etc.. Do research into those things before designing the trailer. Pick out the components you wants and build the trailer aroudn them.
