Off-Road Trailer Build - Pump Trailer Transformation

Tough question, if I built another one I'd probably build it from scratch at this point but when I first started I was looking to build as cheap as possible and thought I'd be able to use the axle and a few of the existing pieces.

I had someone else sand blast it for me, it was an absolute must, I tried to sand and scrap a lot of it myself but decided really quick it wasn't worth the effort. It was an old oilfield trailer that had been brush painted several times.

Thanks for the reply. Tough is right. There is something attractive about repurposing a military trailer but I've remodeled some houses and after the fact I know I should've just demo'd them and started over. I'm trying to decide if I'm using the existing axle/8 lug tires but I want brakes on mine so it seems I should just bite the bullet and go with Timbren/brakes and 5 lug to match my jeep. And if I do that then I'm just left with the trailer frame since I have to cut off their coupler/jack and put on my own spine and coupler. If I have to pay to sandblast then maybe building the frame from scratch is better. How much did it cost you to have it sandblasted? Do you know how long it took them to sandblast? Did they wet or dry sandblast? Sorry for the questions but I'm new to sandblasting.

Finally got around to installing and wiring in external USB and Andersonb electrical ports. Anderson is located directly below the hinge of my tent so that I can plug in my tent fan and Hard Korr 39" light that stays in the tent. USB is located on the oppositeb side for charging electronics under the 270 awning (if it ever gets here - ordered in early March...)

Picked up a shower enclosure to add to the trailer before our big trip. I didn't want the enclosure to open under my tent and in front of a door so I built a telescoping mount that allows it to push out in front of the tent and in the perfect position for the shower connection.

I ordered a 270 awning with all walls from Overland Vehicle Systems in early March to put in my trailer before our big road to Montana, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico. At the time of ordering they told me that I'd have it in early May, but it ended up showing up 2 days after we left for our trip in late June... I was really disappointed not to have it for the trip but am happy that it is on the trailer now, I really like that way it works, and look forward to trying it out soon!20210709_151933_compress38.jpg20210708_104331_compress76.jpg20210708_104307_compress5.jpg20210708_100141_compress70.jpg
