I usually go with instant coffee.

Esp since Starbucks came out with Via. As much as I am not a big Starbucks Fan they got it right with their instant.

Man, that's a nice machine! I chose Pasquini because Mr. Pasquini himself has his shop in my back yard, so to speak. It was an upgrade from a $90 plastic consumer model.

I'll start taking it camping when I get a giant RV...!

thanks :) love the Elektra :) for sure a insane machine love the fully plumbed now that I have it ;) hehehe

my Pasquini was a step up from a Estro Profi about 10+ years ago more like 15 maybe ? then got the bug to step up again :)

went form a Braun in the 80s to a Estro in the 90s to a Pasquini in the late 90s and now the Elektra next is my Mazzer mini which I had since they first came out :) I was one of the first ones to get the Mazzer mini
want to get a K30 vario now :)

its a disease for sure to get into the espresso thing :) hehehehe

and man if your jump was a plastic $90 thing you took the flying leap for sure :) heheh
if you were like me you were like WOW this thing is amazing what I can get out of it :)

at the time I got mine it was about the best home machine you can get was a pasquini and they still are a great machine so I think in that $1500 to $2000 price point he has had the longest running true machine and really was the pioneer of that style level of machine that many took cues from meaning a machine that did not need a 20 amp and plumbed in :) and now we have quite a few options in that $1500 up or down range I bet most of them could thank him for the livia breaking into that market :)

have you met him then ? that would be fun

if he is in your backyard thats pretty cool I was thinking of sending mine into him to have it tuned up :) and maybe sell it or keep it around ? part of my life hard to sell those things sometimes :)
or drive out that way and had deliver it to his shop ?
great machine and great classic looks though

good to see another espresso fan on here though :)

My wife and I used to own an espresso stand. We sold everything but the Marzocco 3 group and a Mazzer Super Jolly grinder....Those are going to be installed once we move into a house:) (currently in a condo).

I love a nice cup of high-octane java on cold camp mornings and would pack my trusty stainless steel french press before any other piece of gear but since fourbucks came out with VIA instant, I've gone that route. This ain't tasters choice my friends - and cleaning out the french press is, well, messy....

Espresso party, sure! As long as you can stand the taste of Starbucks....My wife works at corporate so she gets a pound a week.

I have the Linea model:

Overkill for sure but since we already have it, why not.

I tried the Via as an experiment, I do not care for it.
Just give me plain old Pacific Northwest beans at the grocer, grind them at home, and use my French Press.

I have two at home, a regular sized one, and a slightly smaller one in my chuckbox.
I do not find it hard to rinse out the French Press while camping.
