Oil for the masses...

Is everyone buying individual quarts for gear oil...four trucks with frequent fluid changes is starting to get pricey at the AutoZone 8.99/quart price...
Is it possible to find 5 gallon or case prices for synthetic lubricants such as Mobil 1 75-90...
Any recommendations on where to buy...AutoZone told me no 5 gallon unless you are a business...
Thanks
Matt

I have seen oil in 4 or 5 qt jugs at auto stores.

Maybe try some industrial/farm type of places?

I'll have to look around.

Gear oil????

Good idea...I forgot about Tractor Supply...
I can always find motor oil in the 5L jugs...but never synthetic gear oil...

Back in the day I used to special order 5 and 10 gal cans of oil (gear and motor) and it was never an issue. I could see how there could be new epa regulations requiring special licensing to buy bulk.

I would try a napa or an independent shop where the guys behind the counter know what oil is for, and see if they can order. Also worth trying independant repair shops, they may be able to help. Worth calling an oil distributor, may only sell wholesale, but could shed light on what's available and maybe point you in the right direction, dealerwise.

You can buy it in gallons on Jegs or Summit Racing. I've been buying Redline gear oil from Jegs that way for years.

Amsoil lists gallon/five gallon on line. I've never bought more than quarts from them on line but I didn't see anything to the contrary. Then again, they list 55 gallon drums too.

NAPA sells oil in 5 gallon containers to individuals. And Walmart sells jugs of oil; some brands come in 4 quart jugs, some in 5 quart jugs.

Check out Grainger:

They also list 75w90 Valvoline in 5 and 16 gallon packages.

You just have to make up a company name when registering.

I buy mine in 5-gallon buckets from Amsoil. Buy a hand pump to fit and diff, tranny, and transfer case changes are quick and relatively easy.

This is what I would like to find...
Thanks for all the info everyone...:)
