Older Chevy AND Ford van ?s....

Okay. I'm in the market for a van...

I want a Ford 93+.. but..being realistic....

I want 4wd.. but... people are on crack around here.....

SO...

What kind of support is there for GM vans(G series)..
And for Older Ford Vans pre 93...

My REALISTIC goals/ requirements, are a decent sized tire with a good tread. And a traction device....or if it comes with limited slip even better...maybe even a hidden winch.. just in case....but...

I want to be able to take the wife, and 2 young daughters, camping... some decent road trips, fire and logging roads... nothing too extreme... I have a truck to get ME into places that I dont belong....

So, for the van, I dont need anything extreme... do I want it? Hell yeah. Will it get used if I get my slimy fingers on one? Hell yeah.

So....

Please, let me know what I can do with either platform....

What is a decent sized tire? I dont know either... I dont need a 33x12... but, if I can squeeze a 33x10... that'd be great.... but... regardless...

I DO know with the GMs, the G20 and G30, are a little taller....(used to drive a 1 ton for work way back)....

I am looking for a Conversion van... nothing fancy... laydown back bench, prefer longer body(want to stick a portapotty behind the rear bench).....

Anyway.. I have thumbed through a lot of stuff... and now I am getting a headache....

Thanks,
Chase

You won't find much aftermarket support for either. Even the 92 & up Fords have limited parts available compared to the trucks/suv's.

So when there's nothing available, everything has to be modified or made from scratch.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it...

So, the GM van doesnt share front springs, spindles, and control arms with the 2wd truck?

Oh well, guess my options are the newer ford, and a AWD Astro....

Again, thanks,
Chase
