Love the Old School Mini Trucks
My wife can't figure out why I've been coveting my neighbor's 85 xtra cab, desert tan w/ matching canopy and wheels. I look at this one and feel the same way. Sooooo hot. Probably the reason she stays with me, work in progress.I just discovered this thread after posting these pics in the main Toyota Forum; there are some incredibly awesome trucks in here. Here is my junk: 1986 Toyota Turbo Pickup, 306K miles, 5spd, 33" Duratrac's, Shell, sleeping platform, NWTI winch bumper, Smittybilt 9500 winch with synthetic line. It's a work in progress; I still want to add sliders and a rear bumper, among other things. I love this truck, it did 20K miles as my DD and now gets me all over Tahoe for camping, snowboarding etc.
That ext cab...wow. I know pictures can lie but that looks perfect. Throw a shell on it, a rack to carry surfboards and I'd be happy until it gave up the ghost.
Thank kind of profit is hard to argue with but that's a great looking truck. I'll be over the moon if I find one like that.
It's incredible what people on the coast here are asking. Non-rebuilds for $6K with 250K+ on them, doesn't seem to matter if it's an 86 or 94 either. Overall range seems to be $4500 to $8K, with a few outliers on both ends of the spectrum. There's a dealer in NC I keep seeing get beautiful examples but they're trying to charge people $14K, it's insane. I just didn't think I'd be dropping $6K or more, but if I'm going to I'm going to make sure it's rust free, stock and as well maintained as possible, so I'll be going west. Plus it's not a bad excuse for another cross-country trip. This is probably a good example of what I'd be after: https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/ctd/5980758118.html
