Ollie's "BugEater" Build

Finally received my storage boxes yesterday and installed them last night. These can be removed when I choose to. I like the idea of the extra storage up top.

I lead quite a few runs. I tell people that if I take them in I will get them out. I like to be prepared. It also gives my wife piece of mind when our son ( 5yrs old) is with me. She can usually tell where we're at 24/7.

could never be "over prepared", yet it "hurts" when you are UNDER prepared... :)

Great build, well thought through!:)

Toyota is big here in PR, and after going through the whole thread all I have to say is...You need help! :Wow1:

Just messing, love this build, and the quality of your work and fab skills are great. Look forward to more

I miss home.

If you ever decide to take a trip back, let me know. I will buy you a beer if you let me check out your ride in person.
This time of year isn't so great....what with the freezing temps and snow. The last two winters have been tough. I can't wait to get out of here for a week next month. MOAB baby!! :wings:

I really wish there was more search and rescue stuff to do in Nebraska. I would love to be a part of it. It would also give me a better excuse for spending money on cool stuff for my Taco. :ylsmoke:

This thing is pretty crazy! Its awesome though. Any idea how much all the stuff you've added weighs? Have you noticed much of a difference in fuel economy with the additions? To me it seems that while having all that stuff is useful, if the range is significantly decreased it would affect the overall usefulness of the vehicle, particularily in a disaster situation where fuel resources could be limited.

Some people have been asking how I mounted the cases on my rack. Here's a shot of how I have secured them. There is one clamp at each of the four corners of each box. Then I got my hands on some very high quality padlocks to secure the boxes with. On the inside of the box I used fender washers with an O-Ring under each washer to maintain the water-tight seal.

I want to make it back there with my rig to show my Grandfather before it's too late. My mom comes out to wheel with me and camp a few times a year. She always brings on other family member in rotation so they all get a taste. I'm from Grafton and went to school in Geneva. My sister and her family are in Kearney and my dad's side is in Fairbury. The rest of my cousins are scattered between Lincoln and Omaha.

I miss the way of life, and believe it or not, the weather too.:)

OK. Who has spent more money on their FJC. Corey or Ollie?

Good question...:)

That varies too... Are we talking items ever bought and put on the rig or items currently on the rig? Most of us have went through many trials and tribulations in our builds. The most modded and sic rig I have yet to encounter, not including UberFJ because that's not fair, is still 1CRZYFJ (Cruiserlarry's FJC). I'll try to get pics this weekend. He's got suspension upgrades and the whole nine yards.
